Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 restomod takes the classic features you
love - like the big back window and a real wood truck bed. Then it
adds in all the best upgrades, including an A/C interior, upgraded
suspension w/four-wheel disc brakes, an overdrive transmission, and
a modern fuel-injected heart. And while it all makes this one
attractive, it even has a story to give this restomod a cool
history.
This truck certainly has the look of something special. Sleek
deleted trim and bright chrome on the bumpers and grille let this
one grab attention. Plus, you not only have large 17-inch polished
wheels, but also the stance is done for some added intimidation.
The lowered front gives it a proper leaning-in look, and the extra
meaty rear tires remind you where the power meets the pavement.
It's all finished in an upgraded black cherry color that loves to
make it look like a candyapple paint went over to the dark side.
There's a touch of age to it, and there's a very good reason for
that. The story we're told on this one is that this spent over 40
years amongst a trio of high school friends. It was only sold
outside of their close circle around 2013. They did some modern
upgrades, like the paint you see today. The wood in the truck bed
also has a little more age to it. Sure, you can easily put glossy
lumber in there, but current style really just seems like a
catalyst to tell the story of this pickup's decades of
friendship.
The desirable wraparound big back window lets in plenty of light to
see the upgraded interior. The exterior black cherry returns on the
door tops and dash, and now it's joined by a deep black on the
carpeting and bench seat. It's a sharp and clean look that makes it
easy to get comfortable. You'll also appreciate worthwhile upgrades
like cold-blowing air conditioning and provisions for an upgraded
stereo system. You'll slip behind the classic Chevy sports steering
wheel that's mounted on a tilt column. Beyond that, there is a full
gauge cluster with digital readout nicely integrated into the
factory dash.
The engine bay has a terrific upgrade, and it's shown off in a
unique way. When you lift the hood, there's still a flat polished
metal piece over the motor. That way when you lift it up, it
creates a mirrored effect that really lets people see the fuel
injected powerhouse within. You're looking at a modern LS-based
truck motor that the consignor says was borrowed from a Cadillac
Escalade. It's a full professional installation that was done only
about three years ago. And the consignor says that it's so well put
together that he doesn't hesitate to take to the highway, even in
the summer heat. In fact, the whole setup was done to be a great
driver with upgrades like the Camaro independent front suspension,
and the Corvette's 4L60E four-speed speed automatic transmission
with highway-friendly overdrive. It's got plenty of power, and so
the power steering, modern sport tires, and four-wheel disc brakes
are all there to let you confidently handle it with ease.
This is the desirable big back window truck with a fresh and
powerful heart, awesome A/C interior, and even that added touch of
history you don't find on many of these classic pickups. So if you
want a terrific driver that has all the right distinction, call
today!
