For Sale: 2005 Cadillac CTS in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

2005 Cadillac CTS V

The car was a big deal when it launched. A corner-carving Cadillac with a V-8 and a six-speed manual? Heady stuff but also long overdue. The Germans had used Cadillac as a punching bag for years, redefining the market and creating cars that younger people were excited about. BMW's M machines were the standards of the sport sedan world while Cadillac seemed to be circling the drain. Had it not been for the Escalade's popularity with hip-hop artists and professional athletes at the turn of the 21st century, Cadillac would've been in a dead heat with Oldsmobile for the title of Most Tragic GM Division.

Consider for consignment: This CTS-V gets a Corvette-derived, 5.7-liter V-8 good for 400 hp and 395 ft.-lbs. of torque. That's way more guts than the stock 255-hp V-6. The CTS-V has the gumption to race to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds, according to Cadillac. But this car is about more than just extra red meat under the hood. The CTS-V has a six-speed manual gearbox, four-piston Brembo brakes, Goodyear Eagle F1 245/45 run-flat tires on larger, 18-inch wheels, performance shocks, springs, stabilizer bars and braces, totally unique ground-effect cladding, two distinctive front grilles, its own instrumentation, audio system, with iPod interface seats and standard heating to both the front seats and the outside mirrors.

Exterior
With its facet chiseled design, tinted windows and black coating for the straight steel the car retains its unassuming look but in reality, it is a smoker! The exterior paint has been sealed with C2V3 by Reflected Images anti is the deep end of the pool. A very aero front chromed grille keeps with the Caddy tradition and shows just a hint of the luxury this car abounds with. 4 doors for easy access for your thrill riders and the tall vertical back of this car with more faceted design for the tail lighting we can see two large tailpipes exhaling just below the integrated bumper. 18-inch light alloy wheels are wrapped with less than 100 mile BFG "G" force Comp 2 tires.

Interior
Nicely molded and smooth to the touch door panels containing all the necessary buttons and toggles to make life just a bit easier on the road. Passengers are treated to high back black leather bolster buckets with dark gray suede inserts. We note power toggles in the sides of the front chairs. In back a nice long bench in the same pattern as the buckets, stretches from door to door. A center console races from the back to the dash and houses the manual shifter. In the dash center is a long panel containing a digital climate control panel, a multi disc CD player and navigation, and interactive screen for the radio and Bluetooth. Despite the exterior facet design, the interior takes on all smooth curves for the dash and dash top. Simple gauges just glow at you in front of the sporty steering wheel. Above is a sunroof and below is nicely preserved gray carpeting.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a pristine preserved engine that is a thriller in the form of a 5.7 Liter LS6 V8. This has a K&N filter added into the air-box and subsequently tuned to accommodate said filter. EFI is feeding this mill, and on back is a T56 6-speed manual transmission (who'd-of-thought I be saying manual transmission for a Cadillac?!) A 3.73 limited differential is on back. Also noted is a Magnaflow cat back system. The shifter has been modified to a Creative Steel short throw shifter.

Undercarriage
Underneath is a play on straight rust-free steel mixing with stamped floor pans and aero ground effect panels. Not even a hint of rust under here! Creative Steel has provided the motor mounts, transmission mount and differential mount. The Brembo brakes have R1 high carbon fiber drilled and slotted rotors, and R1 semi metallic pads. Front suspension is independent, and rear is independent with multi-link coil springs.

Drive-Ability
Who would have thought Cadillac would have a sports car but it definitely does not disappoint. Plenty of invigorating acceleration, Jesus bar grabbing handling, and bias free panic stopping on a dime. All functions were working perfectly at the time of my test drive. A definite "A" ticket ride.

Very nicely preserved and maintained for this 2 owner car. I should say a sports car that wraps itself in luxury and conveniences. Some extras added on, and total performance from this specially tuned engine direct from the Corvette.
