The 69 Mach 1 Mustang has to be one of the most attractive of all
time in my opinion. In fact, Mach 1 was the name given to the
performance-oriented option package that gave the 69 Mustang the
most sinister look to date, offering a variant of the Super Cobra
Jet motor to rival the COPO Camaro. The Pony car wars were in full
effect and the big three were putting it all on the line in 1969.
Previously known as the fastback, the Mach 1 was only available in
the now called SportRoof. Enough fluff for now, This car is a real
head turner finished in a pretty rare color combination of Royal
Maroon over White Vinyl interior. The car was a California car up
until the early 2000's when it was brought to Michigan for a full
treatment. No expense spared restoration was performed from
2006-2008. The car was restored back to factory cosmetics with
performance upgrades using its original numbers engine block. This
351 is now putting out nearly 450 HP and over 460 ft lb ov torque
with DYNO sheets to prove it. The engine is now sporting aluminum
heads and intake. The engine was built by Mikes Competition Engines
out of Grand Rapids, MI with a detailed sheet of what has been
performed. An aluminum radiator has also been added for
drivability. There is Marti report that comes with the car as well
as all receipts from the restoration for both cosmetics and
mechanicals. The Mach 1 was a father and son project and since the
restoration the car has been driven but less than 5,000 miles. The
restoration is now going on fifteen years old with some very minor
paint imperfections that would be expected from a car that has been
driven and time passed, however the car has been taken care of,
serviced regularly and has had excellent climate controlled
storage. This Mach 1 starts, runs and drives flawlessly not to
mention sounds amazing. You could not come close to building this
for the asking price.
