Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1991 BMW E34 M5. This M5
is finished in attractive black on black with leather heated sport
seats and is currently showing 187,000 miles. It has been a
long-term North Carolina and Georgia car, under current enthusiast
ownership for nearly ten years. It's mechanically excellent and
accompanied by a huge service file dating to 2000.
Within the last few years a great deal of service and maintenance
work has been performed including coolant hoses, steering and
suspension rebuild (control arms, bushings, tie rods, sway bar
links, dog bones, etc), SLS accumulators, timing chain tensioner,
valve adjustment, motor mounts, diff mount, driveshaft center
support bearing and flex disk, transmission mounts, diff reseal,
crank seal, intake hoses and gaskets, short shifter and bushings,
subframe bushings, brakes (including hoses), heater core, blower
motor, evaporator, muffler and hangers just to name a few. A
factory remanufactured transmission and new clutch were installed
at 116k. Brand new (January '21) Yokohama Advan sports are mounted
on staggered 18-inch M-Parallel wheels and a professional alignment
was performed.
This M5 runs and drives great with excellent power from the 3.6
liter S38 and a smooth shifting five-speed manual gearbox.
Cosmetically this example shows as a "driver" with some exterior
and interior cosmetic wear consistent with age and mileage - a few
scuffs and paint touch ups, some typical shrinking on the door
panels, etc. With fewer than 1,700 North American market units, the
E34 M5 is the rarest of all the generations of M5 imported. This
one offers an excellent value as it is turn key mechanically and
could easily be brought to the next level cosmetically with some
light reconditioning.
