1987 Chevrolet K-1500 Pickup

C/K is a series of trucks that were manufactured by General Motors. Marketed under the Chevrolet and GMC brands, the C/K series included a wide range of vehicles. While most commonly associated with pickup trucks, the model line also included chassis-cab trucks and medium-duty trucks and served as the basis for GM full-size SUVs. Used for both the model branding and the internal model code, "C" denoted two-wheel drive; "K" denoted four-wheel drive.

For consignment a hauler, a 4x4, a comfy driver, a full size bed which is covered, all wrapped up in two tone paint, some shiny running boards and 15-inch rally wheels.

Exterior
Known as the rounded line as tagged by GM, the lines appear to be more square and rectangle than anything else. This includes a rectangular grille with square headlights in square bezel panels and a shiny bumper below. Straight rust free steel wraps all sides and the bed, and all support well minded gaps. Brown metallic covers the upper portion of the truck, except for the cab roof. White is the complementary color reserved for the bottom and the roof. Some thin stainless trimmings finish off the wheel wells and just on the aft portion of the front wells are aluminum mud flaps for the well which form the front support of an aluminum running board that runs just past the doors and helps with the climb in. The back has rubber flaps, and they are doing their job because the white lower portion of the rear panel is very clean. The bed is covered with a ribbed tuff plastic full liner which even covers the sides. On top is a vinyl snap on tonneau cover in black to weatherproof the bed as well. 15-inch rally wheels are wrapped by 235/75R15 raised white letter Cooper Discoverer all weather deep tread tires.

Interior
Brown molded vinyl buttons up the door panels and these have some monogrammed leather small panels bolted on over top of the brow vinyl. Inside is a brown broadcloth covered bench seat that has a tear revealing the underlying padding on the driver's side. Brown smooth bolsters are in the sides and front surrounding of this bench. The original dash is intact and looking clean. The dash top is clean and shows no cracking or distortions. Above is a metal brown painted headliner, and on the floors is utilitarian but easy to clean rubber.

Drivetrain
Under the hood within a clean and well-maintained engine bay is a 350ci V8 engine complete with EFI and a 700R4 4-speed automatic. A 3.06 rear axle is on. Overall the engine bay is free of any corroded parts and just shows some dirt and dust.

Undercarriage
Minor speckles of surface rust, pepper the various undercarriage parts. All remains very solid and really clean with little road dirt spills seen. Leaf springs are on all 4 corners and power disc brakes are upfront, and power drums for the rear.

Drive-Ability
A quick starter, and fine driver with easy power steering, good cornering, nice smooth acceleration with plenty of power. All functions were working at the time of the test drive.

A nice survivor example that has had a mere 2 owners throughout its history. The last being the consignor's father who has passed away and now the consigner can no longer make use of this vehicle. A clean well-kept example with fairly low mileage (81,642) for its age. Definitely worth a look, as it has lots of life left in this one's soul.
