This Shelby Cobra replica was ordered from Contemporary Classic Motor Car Company and is said to have been built in 1994 by Specialty Cobra of Bermuda Dunes, California. The car is finished in red over black leather, and its side-oiler 460ci stroker V8 is paired with a four-speed Toploader manual transmission. Other features include a Jaguar-sourced independent rear suspension, front coilover suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, side exhaust pipes, a roll hoop, Halibrand-style wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths gauges, and a Hurst shifter. The current owner acquired the car in 2015 and has since added approximately 500 miles. This CCX Cobra is now offered on dealership consignment in California with service records and a clean Arizona title that lists the vehicle as a 1965 Ford.
The car is finished in red with a chrome-finished roll hoop, full bumpers, a side mirror, and side pipes. A black tonneau cover will accompany the car, and each panel is shown up close in the photo gallery below.
Polished Halibrand-style 15? wheels are mounted with three-ear knockoffs and wear BFGoodrich Euro Radial T/A 50H tires. The car utilizes Wilwood brake calipers up front and a Jaguar independent rear suspension system with inboard disc brakes. The front axle features coilover suspension.
Contoured bucket seats with black leather upholstery are complemented by a matching transmission tunnel, carpeting, and trim. Other features include Cobra-branded floor mats, a Hurst shifter, door pockets, and lap harnesses.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 180-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and five auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows just under 9k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the current owner.
The side-oiler 460ci stroker V8 is equipped with aluminum Edelbrock cylinder heads, red-accented finned valve covers, an Edelbrock camshaft, MSD ignition, and a polished intake manifold with an 850-cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor.
Power is delivered to the rear end through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission and the aforementioned Jaguar rear end. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery. A driving video is provided below.
