Body off frame restored. This was obviously a no expense spared
restoration, its a cut above everywhere I look. It's been done a
few years but its still amazing! Great list of features, stunning
looks.
EXTERIOR: Wow, the color, stance and wheels are beautiful. The body
is laser straight, the gaps are precision fit. The Burgundy Wine
metallic is polished out like a mirror. There are a few minor
imperfections. Every single piece of chrome and trim was restored
or replaced. It has dual bowtie mirrors, rocker moldings and twin
rear antenna. The SS trim has machine turned inserts on the side
moldings and tailpanel. The stainless around the windows is
straight and polished, grill is mint, emblems and handles look new.
All new light tinted glass with rechromed window frames. The jambs
are polished, even the hinges in front are slick. Weatherstrips
were replaced. Great looking set of 15 inch chrome Cragar wheels
with BFG tires, a little fatter in back.
INTERIOR: I open the door and can't help but notice how the dash
area sparkles. Floor to ceiling looks new. It has the SS buckets
seats and console with a correct 4-speed sticking out of it. The
gray speckled mats match the carpet. Seats are reupholstered, door
panels are replaced. Headliner, visors, mirror look new. Repainted
metal dash, new dash pad, all the trim and knobs sparkle. The
original radio is actually updated with modern guts. It has
upgraded speakers front and back and a subwoofer. That's a restored
1959 steering wheel on a tilt column. It has a classic hot rod
tachometer on the column and a new set of Auto Meter gauges in the
dash. The details are impressive, everywhere I look is beautiful,
even up under the dash. Interior lights work
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely restored engine compartment with a
dual quad 409 at the heart of it. The jamb, firewall and bottom of
the hood is just as slick as the outside. The hinges are shiny
cadmium plated. The motor is a strong running 409 with aluminium
Edelbrock intake with dual Edelbrock 500 cfm carbs. It has is a
glass bowl fuel filter and correct dual snorkel air cleaner. A
brand new heat and air conditioning system was recently installed.
It has a slant top radiator unique to 409s. The generator is
actually an alternator in disguise. looks to be like it actually in
alternator inside. Upgraded dual reservoir master cylinder, new
power steering system. Every component- wiper motor, horns,
pulleys, fan shroud look like new. The battery is properly mounted
and has a Delco topper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal with a nice grey spatter finish
paint. It has the 3 piece rubber mats, new weatherstrip. The bottom
of the trunk lid and the jamb are just as slick as the outside of
the car. It has the very cool retractable trunk light. It works and
has enough cord to reach the front of the car.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame for a thorough
restoration. Upfront the suspension and steering was completely
rebuilt and given some upgrades. It has adjustable coil over gas
shocks and a rack & pinion steering. The rear 3 link suspension is
completely rebuilt- new bushings, shocks and springs. New fuel
system- tank, straps, sending unit and lines. Bottom of the motor
is spotless, freeze plugs are not painted over, it has a high
torque starter. Muncie 4-speed trans, everythingattachedto it looks
new. Driveshaft and u-joints look new. 3.62 posi rear end. Upgraded
