Vehicle Description
No one has to tell you this 1988 Toyota FJ62 Land Cruiser Restomod
is a rugged machine. It has the lifted stance, beefy guard bars,
upgraded lights, and a winch are all there to give this the right
dominating first impression. And this one has even been upgraded to
a well-built small block V8 to give it the power to back up its
looks. But more than just an awesome 4x4, you're going to love this
for the full custom interior and all the upgraded details that put
a ton of style behind the serious substance.
The gray pint reminds us of granite, and so you know there was a
solid investment in this Land Cruiser. And the black accessories
are what really complete this tough-as-nails presentation. You see
it in the front bumper that has an integrated bull bar, a quad pack
of PIAA lights, and an integrated winch. There's a full Land
Cruiser steel roof rack with integrated LED lights. Those 20-inch
BMF wheels were made for the off-road, and the Nitto Mud Grappler
Extreme Terrain tires have a deep tread to live up to their name.
Plus, the strong steel side steps are a handy feature to get into
this lifted Land Cruiser. The rear has a swing-away mount for the
full-size spare, and there's also both a tow hitch and tow hooks.
And those added LED lights on the roof can turn midnight into noon
out on the trail. So this custom 4x4 is as functional as it is
intimidating.
From the moment you open the door, you can see that the
customization did not end with the exterior. After all, the FJ62
was the kind of Land Cruiser that first gave us a true full-size
interior, and this one utilizes that volume to maximize the comfort
and usability. It starts with a full custom seating package done in
black with perforated gray inserts to match the exterior. The door
panels are even done to match. And the way that all the details
come together - like the cup holder center console - make this full
custom presentation look as well-done as a factory setup. It's an
impressive fit and finish, right down to the billet finish on the
door handles, switches, and air vents. This is loaded with all the
best features including power windows, power locks, and provisions
for R134a air condition (likely just needs a recharge to blow
ideally cold again.) There are even some truly modern upgrades like
a push-button start and an AM/FM/CD/DVD/XM touchscreen stereo
w/Bluetooth. The driver's seat is a commanding position with a
Billet Specialties steering wheel on a tilt column, toggle
switches, a gated shifter, and bright Classic Instruments
gauges.
Under the hood is a terrific upgrade to a 350 cubic-inch crate V8.
We love these Toyotas for their near indestructible reputation, and
the Chevy small block unit shares that kind of status. At the same
time, this fresher motor also loves performance upgrades. So this
hardy four-bolt main powerhouse also has aluminum heads, an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and Sanderson
headers feeding the dual exhaust. It's supported by the right
pieces, like an MSD ignition, dual Optima red top batteries, and an
aluminum radiator w/electric fans. So it makes for a well-built
heart that gives you a huge added helping of extra power and
torque. That makes this 4x4 terrific for the off-road... especially
when paired with the big investment in the suspension. You have
about 10 inches of lift, upgraded axles/diffs, and a full
powder-coated frame. All of it looks exceptionally clean on this
low mileage build. This even has features like power steering,
four-wheel power disc brakes, and a four-speed automatic
transmission w/overdrive to be useful for more than just getting
deeper into nature.
The sale comes complete with two binders filled with receipts and
records documenting the big work and big investment it takes to get
a Land Cruiser this unique. But you already know the time, effort,
and money it takes to get something this awesome. That's why you
know you can't let it slip away. Call today!!!
