Vehicle Description
This 1980 MGB is a Limited Edition model that adds style to show
how one of the best-selling British drop-tops was given a proper
sendoff. So if you love a sleek triple-black driver's classic, you
know this is well-done distinction.
This was the final year for the MGB, and really, it was the end of
the line for sprightly British two-seaters that were fun,
affordable, and stylish. MG seemed to understand how important this
really was and gave us a one last version we'd never forget. All
Limited Edition cars were black from the factory, and this one
received a quality respray later in life to keep its luster looking
good in the sunshine. They also received a special silver striping
package, and so the full-length streaks also show off the quality
of the body. It all makes it easy for British car fans to instantly
recognize this is something special (it's believed less than 6,800
Limited Edition cars were made over a two-year run.) Other distinct
features of these LE cars are the deep chin spoiler and luggage
rack. And those special five-spoke alloys were a true calling card
for these special edition convertibles.
The black convertible top looks good against the body, and when you
take it down, there's a tidy black interior. It gives it a great
full midnight package inside and out, and not all LE cars even got
this ultra-desirable triple-black style. This is a great one to
show off to the world with quality details, like good door panels,
nice carpeting, a smooth dash, and a taut convertible boot cover.
Plus, the driving experience is always a priority with the
high-back bucket seats, crisp gauges, grippy sports steering wheel,
and a perfectly-placed gearshift. There are also nice details, like
the wood dash with Limited Edition badge. And the upgrade to an
AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input means you get modern driving music
in this classic British drop-top.
The engine bay has a great vintage look, right down to the
Austin-Rover logo on top of the valve cover. This correct 1.8-liter
motor shows the right signs of good maintenance, and the way it one
fires up and runs reaffirms the good care. While you might love
showing this one off, the nimble handling combined with control of
the four-speed manual transmission means you may never get off the
back roads long enough to join the car show. There's even proper
Michelin tires and the stopping power of power brakes w/front
discs.
The sale comes complete with a service manual and even a new trunk
rack. So when such a cool collectible is also quite affordable, you
know you need to hurry on this deal. Call today!!!
