In 1963 was a major leap for Corvette. It was an entirely new
platform, new design, new independent suspension. Chevrolet
realized they had real competition in the Cobra. Zora Duntov and
company decided to introduce a new package, called the ZO6. Most of
the new collectors today think the ZO6 just came about, but they
came out with the ZO6 back in 1963 for one year and then was
reintroduced in 2001. The ZO6 option consisted of the optional
327/360 Fuel Injected Engine, F40-Heavy Duty Suspension, Power
Brakes, Heavy Duty Brakes with cooling fins, brake scoops, sintered
metallic brake scoops and an optional 36-Gallon Gas Tank
"Big-Tank". In total 199 ZO6's were produced and of the 199, 63 of
them had the "Big Tank"option.
This particular ZO6 Big Tank is as good as it gets. It has binders
full of documentation, previous sales invoices. This car has
undergone a complete frame-off restoration. It has been seen by the
experts and unequivocally authenticated. This car has gone through
David Burroughts "Prove It" authentication process and the engine
numbers have been authenticated by CCAS "Al Grenning". The ZO6
aficionado Tony Avedisian has gone through this car himself and
prepped it to earn its NCRS Top Flight Award in 2019.
ZO6 Corvettes are at the top of the food chain when it comes to
sought after Corvettes.
