Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 22nd year in the
classic and muscle car business. As America emerged from WWII,
automobile stylists were forced to dust off their prewar designs
because arms production had supplanted auto manufacturing during
the war. The race was on for a new look that would capture the
hearts and wallets of the rapidly expanding middle class in postwar
America. Ford, including their Mercury division, was the first of
the Big Three American manufacturers to cash in on the new envelope
bodies that blended fenders and doors into one cohesive form.
Mercury's version became so iconic that most of these classics have
been customized beyond restorable condition, leaving very few
original examples. Our Maywood Green (13) 1950 Mercury Eight Sport
Sedan is a pleasant departure from that trend. The only
modifications we've seen to this rolling time capsule are 4 easily
removable 1 lowering blocks that give the car a great stance.
Features include the correct 255 ci flathead V8 (8CM) with correct
Ford-Holley carburetor, 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive,
beautiful beige and brown interior, fender skirts, dual spotlights,
optional 8 tube AM radio (currently inoperative), and the correct
accessory road lamps. The body is straight and rust-free, the
interior is sharp, but the paint is fading a bit. The frame is
sound with a dusting of surface rust and please note the pans in
the images; you can see that they're pristine where the
undercoating has peeled. A good example of one of the coolest
cruisers on the continent. Leather jacket not included! Street
Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service dealership that can assist
with worldwide delivery, insurance, and financing options.
