many ways, and all are well known to the modern collector
community. A single-year release, the AAR was offered in the first
season for the brand's new E-body release, a major change from the
former Valiant-platform-based Barracuda A-body model. The AAR Cuda
received an exclusive 340 CI powerplant that featured three
2-barrel Holley carburetors and special cylinder heads designed to
be ported more than normal. The purpose-built nature was expensive
to produce, but it was offered that year as the result of needing
to homologate components for the popular SCCA Trans-Am racing
series, spearheaded from Plymouth by sports car legend Dan Gurney.
