Vehicle Description
This Contemporary Cobra built by Contemporary Classic Motor Car
Company in Mamaroneck, New York, chassis# CCX-3-3422 was crafted
after the 1965 Shelby Cobra chassis number CSX3045 original Cobra
as the master tooling to create the one-piece fiberglass mold for
Contemporary Classic?s Cobra replicas. Since the late 1970s
Contemporary Classic has been universally recognized as one of
those top-rung Go-To Cobra replicas (alongside E.R.A. of New
Britain, Connecticut) for serpent enthusiasts seeking a high
quality of engineering and all the vestiges of the look, the
persona and the spirited performance of Shelby?s original menace of
the motorways. It boasts a round-tube ladder chassis and suspension
setup very similar to Shelby?s originals, and the rear end is a
rugged Jag/Salisbury setup, also faithfully authentic in
performance to those Salisbury setups in the originals. Stir an
original cast-iron 427FE engine and a rugged Ford Toploader gearbox
into the mix, and you?ve got the original-faithful beauty you see
here! And as these Contemporary Classic Cobras have matured just a
bit, they have also acquired the patina one would expect of a
Shelby original, so that the original/ authenticity factor is
enhanced accordingly. Possessing this li?l red reptile is as close
as you will ever get to owning and driving any original Shelby
American 427 Cobra without investing well into seven figures of
hard-earned U.S. Dollars. Ford 427FE big-block engine fitted with
