Vehicle Description
This 1990 Land Rover Defender 130 is a right-hand drive four-door
example that left the factory as a high-capacity pickup and is said
to have been used on expeditions in Europe and Siberia under
previous ownership before being purchased by the seller in 2016. A
subsequent overhaul carried out by Eastern Off Road of
Cambridgeshire, England included refinishing the frame as well as
body modifications from a later Puma Defender. A 2.5-liter 200Tdi
turbodiesel inline-four was installed after the truck was imported
into the US in 2018, and is paired with a five-speed manual
transmission and a two-speed transfer case as well as Salisbury
front and rear axles. Additional features include a Safety Devices
front roll cage, LED lighting, leather Exmoor seats, power-operated
front windows, a Puma dash, air conditioning, and 18? wheels with
BFGoodrich tires. The body and chassis were separated as shown in
the gallery below and the stock doors, hood, and roof were replaced
with later Puma parts before repainting by Eastern Off Road.
Additional modifications include a Safety Devices front roll bar,
rocker protection, LED projector headlights, a front bumper with
integrated daytime running lights, diamond-plate fender trim, and
more. The truck features a four-door configuration on a 130?
wheelbase. Black 18? wheels wear BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2
tires, and a matching spare is mounted in the bed. A steering box
guard and Terra Firma stabilizer have been fitted along with
four-wheel disc brakes and stainless steel hoses. The cabin
features room for five passengers on Exmoor quilted leather seats
as well as a Puma headliner, an Exmoor center console with a
storage box and cup holder, Exmoor leather door trim, black
carpeting with floor mats, and power-operated front windows. The
Puma dash houses vents, an analog clock, and a radio blanking
plate. A leather-wrapped Puma steering wheel frames instrumentation
including a six-digit odometer that reads approximately 212k
chassis miles, 500 of which are said to have been added following
the refurbishment. The seller fitted an air conditioning system
integrated with the Puma dash after the truck arrived in the US. A
replacement 2.5-liter 200Tdi turbodiesel inline-four was reportedly
installed under current ownership, at which time it was fitted with
a new timing belt and water pump. Additional modifications include
a tuned fuel pump and a 115mm intercooler. A custom big-bore
exhaust system exits via a single pipe that exits under the left
side of the cab. Power is supplied to all four wheels through a
five-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and
Salisbury axles at both ends. The ladder frame is said to have been
boxed at the rear under previous ownership, and was reportedly
media blasted before being refinished. The suspension has been
modified with extended control arms and heavy-duty coil springs at
the rear.
