The De Tomaso Pantera is a mid-engine sports car produced by Italian automobile manufacturer De Tomaso. Italian for “Panther”, the Pantera was the automaker’s most popular model, with about 7,000 examples manufactured during it’s 20 year production run. Although the Pantera is an Italian car, it carries several nationalities behind it, designed by American-born designer Tom Tjaarda, and the Pantera logo is influenced from De Tomaso’s Argentinean nationality.
The first 1971 Pantera models were powdered by a 5.8L Ford Cleveland V8 engine putting out 330hp. The car came with an abundance of standard features including power assistant four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering, electric windows, and air conditioning.
