Vehicle Description
1955 Studebaker Speedster. Talk about a rare interesting and
desirable find. Just out of a serious Studebaker/Nash/Kaiser estate
collection. Owner was a high-up Honeywell Electrical Engineer. We
were fortunate enough to acquire 13 of his best out of 50 classics.
This Dr. even had his own mechanic that went and chased cars down
for him from all over the USA and also maintained them and his
large ranch full time. I made friends with his right-hand man (had
airplanes in common as hobbies). So he told me which classics were
the ones to acquire. Unmolested true numbers matching Speedster
coupe. No rust top or bottom. Underneath, floors, frame, body
mounts, trunk and hog troughs are as dry as they get. Dr was very
fussy and stayed to original. He had this car painted 15 years ago
because she was one of his favorites. Speedster was refinished in
original paint codes and desirable 3-tone colors: Coral, Mauve and
Ivory top. Even the Studebaker clubs have never seen these colors.
The story is the car was ordered for himself that had the
Studebaker dealership. Some shipping papers included. All chrome
and stainless bumpers were off car before refinished in base
coat/clear coat for that wet, shiny look. Outstanding finish and
done right by professionals (Dr. never cut corners on any of his
collection). All new weather stripping and rare with full tinted
glass. Stock, original 289/4BL with desirable optional ordered
power steering. Only thing we did was a full tune-up (runs and
drives sweet). Excellent compression, so pulls nice with highway
stock gears, stock 3-speed automatic shifts just right. Motor and
air cleaner paint were excellent. Fun to drive and show off one of
a kind at any car or Studebaker show. Brand new radials, so handles
nice. Original tires were weathered (we keep original tires to
verify miles). 33K believed actual miles. Stock full gauge package,
even with factory tach. Note cool factory bumper guards and fog
lights. Also factory lots of stainless large side trim and all
correct excellent emblems. Factory stock wire hubcaps and original
spare and jacks. Interior is all original and only for 1955
Speedster's. Interior shows no wear. Steering wheel and dash all
excellent (more evidence of actual miles). Also door panels are
like new. Always garaged, maintained and pampered. Well, anyway,
some lucky classic car enthusiast is going to have the biggest
smile on his face when he sees her in the garage and when she pulls
up to any restaurant, DQ, swap meet and car shows. People will say
"Wow! I have never seen a Speedster and never this clean." Take

more than not originals. $27950. Will Trade UP or DOWN. Bob
