Wow, this is a hot looking Chevelle! I absolutely love the color
combination. A 454 with a 4-speed, cowl induction, gauges,
buckets......it doesn't get better. Actually it does, this is a
factory a/c car. The air needs work but the potential is there.
EXTERIOR: Georgia built car, I bought it down south. It is really
straight, actually looking into the side of the car is like looking
into a mirror. You could shave in the reflection. I don't see any
signs of rust, damage or bubbles. No vinyl top, correctly painted
white SS stripes. It has an actual cowl induction hood and racing
pins. The windshield is new. It looks like most of the trim is new-
grill, emblems, bumpers, lenses, handles etc. The SS wheels are
restored with a set of BFG tires.
INTERIOR: The red really pops, I love it. For the most part it
looks new. Down on the floor is new red carpet, new reproduction
console with a new Hurst 4-speed sticking out of it. The seats feel
like they have all new cushions, new upholstery including the
headrests, new chrome trim. New door panels, window cranks and
armrest pads. In front of me the instrument panel is new, has
factory SS gauges, new deluxe wheel. Complete set of original red
seat belts. The headliner and visors are excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Performance 454 motor with square port heads,
polished aluminium intake, new Holley carb, coated headers and a
healthy cam. It has a new billet distributor. In front of the motor
is an aluminium timing cover and water pump. It also has billet
brackets, pulleys and serpentine belt system. It has a polished 1
wire alternator and a billet March power steering with remote
reservoir and braided hoses. There is a polished a/c compressor.
This is a factory air conditioned car, so it has the components on
the firewall and a condenser. It will need work to be functional
but parts are available. There is a big electric fan in the stock
shroud. New cadmium plated brake booster, new master cylinder.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid trunk compartment. It was spatter painted,
has a new trunk mat. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are
gloss black, new weather strip and decals.
UNDERSIDE: The front end was rebuilt and upgraded with polyurethane
bushings. The pitman arm, centerlink, balljoints look new. The rear
suspension is new- upgraded tubular upper and lower control arms,
new swaybar, bushings and shocks. Disc brakes in front. Calipers,
backing plate, hoses, lines and e-brake cables are new. Fuel tank,
sending unit, straps, lines and fuel pump are new. The exhaust has
Flowmaster mufflers and cowbell tips. The metal looks to be very
dry, clean original. Even the lower inner rockers and quarters are
clean.
I think of all the Chevelles I've seen this has the hottest colors.
454 with a 4-speed makes it even that much better!
