For Sale: 1971 Dodge Charger in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

23,404 actual mile survivor! One owner until 2016. His wife bought him the car as a surprise, he is handicapped and did not use the car much. He is still alive, 104 years old! The 2nd owner dressed it up with rally wheels and a spoiler to raffle the car off. The 3rd owner won the car. I am amazed at how nice it is for an original car.

EXTERIOR: Original paint! This is a hot looking Charger. The lines, stance, color, wing and wheels look great. It is a factory wing that was added. Pristine original body. Looking down each side it is straight, actually it is straight everywhere I look. No damage, certainly no rust. There are a number of chips in the paint if you look for them, but standing next to the car it looks like a show car. It is even slick to the touch. The factory hand painted pinstripes are still real nice. The chrome is excellent. Up front the bumper and grills are mint. It has dual chrome sport mirrors in excellent shape. The door handles are mint, the stainless trim around the windows and gutters are mint. In back the tail lights and bumper are excellent. It has all the original glass, it's in excellent shape. It even has the original Ziebart sticker on the windshield. I'm amazed how well the doors shut, like a new car. 15" rally wheels were added, they still look new. Also has Goodyear white letter tires. Door jambs are excellent, there are some old oil change stickers with mileage. Weather strips are real nice.

INTERIOR: Wow, this is probably the newest all original interior I've seen. It's white and still looks practically new. In front of me is a pristine dashboard- chrome trim, lenses, knobs, gauges, vents, original radio are excellent. The dash pad is mint with no cracks, steering wheel is not worn at all. Inside the glove box looks brand new- the light works, there is an OK stamped on the glove box liner and there is an OK tagged found under the seat. The seats have firm cushion still, the upholstery is practically like new. It has a buddy cushion fold down arm rest in between the 2 buckets. The side panels are mint, some of the plastic is slightly yellowed but none of it is damaged. The headliner, visors, mirror are mint. The dome light works. All of it's seat belts including the shoulder belts are mint. Original carpets are excellent. Every piece I look at is excellent, there's nothing to apologize for inside this car.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original vin number match 318 motor runs like a new car. Everything is very well preserved and proper. The motor has been carefully touched up. It is all stock- manifolds, heat shield, air cleaner, heat riser tube, valve covers etc. The hoses and belts are actually still original. It features power steering and a factory air conditioning. The fire while is pristine original. It still has paper tags around the wire looms. There is Ziebart undercoat on the fender wells. The original trim tag has never been off the car. The first owner installed a cruise control system.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid, all original metal. The floor was Ziebarted and it has the original mat sitting on it. The original orange paint on the bottom of the trunk lid is mint. There is even some assembly line markings still written on it. The latch is mint, the original weather strip with part # on it is excellent. The spare tire has never been used, the jack assembly is complete.

UNDERSIDE: Very well preserved original. It was protected with Ziebart. The floor, frame rails inner quarters and rockers are solid. The front end components look very clean. It has drum brakes that work real well. E-brake is hooked up, hoses look recent. The shocks have been replaced. The exhaust was upgraded to duals with Flowmaster mufflers. Looking up at the motor it is good original. The Torqueflite automatic is vin number matching to the car. The rear end still has factory paint markings on it.
