This rust free California truck was frame off restored. The fit and
finish is outstanding, better then factory. Very desirable- born a
shortbed with a 390 motor, air conditioning and more. The driveline
was rebuilt with performance upgrades.
EXTERIOR: Rust free truck. Built in San Jose and lived in southern
California. The fit and finish is amazing. The body is absolutely
straight, no signs of rust whatsoever. The Candy Apple red paint is
polished out like red chrome. Speaking of chrome every piece of it
is either restored or replaced. It is a Ranger which gives it more
trim. The grill was chromed. New side moldings, emblems, mirrors,
door handles. All the trim on the tailgate is new. They even
replaced all the glass in the truck. The jambs are painted as slick
as the body. New 20 inch highly polished Torque Thrust wheels with
performance sneakers.
INTERIOR: The seat has been reupholstered and recushioned, it's
comfortable. In front of me is a new dash pad, the instrument panel
is very nice, the chrome sparkles, the paint is shiny. There us a
modern Pioneer stereo. The steering wheel looks like it's new.
Inside the cab was all repainted red. It has a headliner.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 390 has a performance build using 428
heads, Howard's performance cam, chromed aluminum intake, dual feed
Holley and a set of headers. It runs strong. An MSD ignition system
delivers the spark. It is beautiful, the engine bay is painted
gloss black. The bottom of the hood and firewall is gloss red.
Every component looks like new. It features power brakes, power
steering and factory air conditioning. Upgraded aluminum radiator
with an aluminum shroud, 2 electric fans and an aluminum water
pump. The pulleys and alternator are aluminum. It is dressed up
with Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed is clean, straight metal with a
gloss red finish.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for restoration. The frame
was powder coated and reinstalled with new bushings. The front end
has been rebuilt. It has upgraded DJM Dream Beam dropped I beams
and polyurethane bushings. New shocks, springs and king pins. In
back it has DJM lowering kit and new shocks. It's dropped 3 inches
in front, 4 in back for a killer stance. Looking up at the motor it
is spotless, has Miloden oil pan. The C-6 automatic trans was
rebuilt, has stall converter. The 9 inch rear has a posi unit.
Great sounding exhaust with Hooker headers. The brakes have been
redone, has disc in front. I'm really impressed with the dry, clean
metal. It's as dry as a chalkboard! Smooth satin black, not even
pitted.
If you compare, make sure you are looking at a factory 390 shortbed
with air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes that is
rust free from California and had a frame off restoration. Yeah, I
didn't think you found one like this! Here is an opportunity to get
a special truck.
