1959 CHEVROLET CORVETTE GASSER
Car History
Everyone always gives a 1959 Corvette a second glance. It is just
that beautiful a car.
That's because the 1959 Corvette is an icon. Four headlights up
front and a curvaceous rear end with the tailfin is so sleek and
sporty.
But when you see a 1959 Corvette like the one we have for sale her
at Adventure Classics, with the injectors coming out the hood, fat
tires, satin black paint and hear the cam and exhaust, you
automatically think GASSER!
Engine & Drivetrain
Just take a look at the 350 cubic inch small block Chevy V8 engine
with the Hillborn Fuel Injection intake manifold and fuel system
that has been converted to a F.A.S.T digital controlled system and
you know that this Corvette is much meaner than the stock 283 cubic
inch engine it had in 1959.
But this one goes much further. It has a mild camshaft, upgraded
solid state distributor and modified ignition, finned aluminum
valve covers, upgraded radiator, power brakes, chrome alternator,
and Ceramic headers feed the dual exhaust.
The engines has a 4-speed Muncie transmission connected to a
Corvette Rear End with it running on Torquethrust custom wheels
with Disc Brakes in the front and black wall performance tires all
the way around.
Interior
The rich looking and comfy interior has twin factory leather bucket
seats with some nice but subtle comfort upgrades like the steering
wheel, a retro-style AM/FM stereo, factory gauges and a large
AutoMeter tach, Hurst 4-speed flor shifter with the white shifter
knob, great door panels, and carpet.
The F.A.S.T compute-controlled engine electronics are all fitted
under the passenger side of the dash so it can be driven as
reliable as any car now.
Exterior
When you think Gasser or race car, you can envision the Satin-Black
paint job on our 1959. It truly gives it the right look with all
the great brightwork, including the wraparound bumpers, scalloping
side trim, and the big toothy smile of the grille.
While you're starting to get the picture that this one has power,
don't forget to look at its level of sophistication, too. It has
the hardtop only which is color-matched to the unique paint, and it
gives you a coupe-like profile.
Conclusion
The 1959 Corvette we have for sale her at Adventure Classic, is
such an iconic Corvette, on more than one level. It will always be
the favorite of a lot of Corvette collectors, but when you throw in
the looks and power of a drag-racer inspired Gasser, then you have
hit a home run on both levels.
