The 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS tribute defined what a cool cruiser
should be. So when you find one that has been expertly restored for
awesome paint, a Super Sport appearance, an overdrive transmission,
and much more, then this is a terrific turn-key total package.
Take a moment to really appreciate the work on this tribute. The
Impala was restyled this year to give it a more sophisticated
roofline, and this one showcases it with the hardtop finished in a
pristine white. In fact, there's a nice pearl element that radiates
in the sunlight. Add in an awesome blue lower section, and you have
a show-ready two-tone. The body lines, gaps, weather stripping, and
all the fundamentals show that this is a carefully crafted coupe.
And while the paint and body had solid investment, you can also
tell they really took time to get the trim and brightwork right.
This was upgraded to a Super Sport, and it correctly has the
machine-turned aluminum trim zooming up the side and surrounding
the Impala's hallmark six taillight arrangement.
When you open the door, the blue and white package continues. The
seats are crisp and nicely finished with the look of a solid
investment. Plus, the button-top presentation here correctly
coordinates with the door panels. A nice white headliner, correct
blue carpeting, a smooth blue dash completes a very vintage and
uniform total package. You'll love all the classic details - from
the artful Impala steering wheel to the AM radio that's still
cranking out the tunes. In fact, the only upgrade you'll likely
spot is the air condition that runs on modern R134a refrigerant
(likely just needs a recharge to blow cold.) So this is a great one
to roll down all the windows on the pillarless hardtop and take for
a drive. That's why they also upgraded this Impala to be a great
cruiser, too.
Under the hood is a 327 cubic-inch V8. While it has a stock style,
right down to the decals, this is actually an upgrade later in
life. They also made sure to build it with the right pieces to be a
strong driver. That includes an MSD ignition, 12-volt alternator,
and Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke. The V8 fires
up nicely, and it makes a subtly sweet tune out of the
glasspack-style dual exhaust. Investments on the suspension make
this a confident driver, and there's even power brakes, front
discs, and an upgraded four speed automatic transmission with
highway-friendly overdrive.
This is the sharp-looking icon that has been upgraded to enjoy near
or far. So if you want to drive a legend, don't miss this deal.
