Vehicle Description
Nicely invested, nicely presented, and nicely priced - this 1973
Volkswagen Super Beetle has been given the right attention to be
the ideal timelessly styled classic. And while this is pure
vintage, you'll also discover some worthwhile upgrades, including
four-wheel disc brakes.
It's hard not to love a Beetle in such a sunny day color. The
Caribbean Turquoise makes your weekend drives feel like you're on
island time. And the high gloss finish also lets the sunshine
really highlight all the curves of this unique rounded design.
Against this tropical blue you have all the right brightwork.
There's plenty of shine in the larger pieces like the bumpers,
wheel covers, and upgraded running boards. But there's also quality
in the smaller details, too, like the dual exhaust tips, vent trim,
and the 1973 SB's new unique cowl trim. It truly gets the classic
cruiser look correct, right down to the new whitewall tires.
The cream white interior looks good against the turquoise exterior.
It looks nice with good upholstery, taut door panels, and newer
carpeting. You get the classic elements you love, like the stylish
single VDO gauge and steering wheel with the Wolfsburg crest in the
center. The 1973 Super Beetles were great for distinct touches like
the curved windshield w/new dash and a unique seat design. Because
this is a cool cruising classic, you get to enjoy it with the best
tunes thanks to an upgraded Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo and modern
speakers.
This 1600cc motor is a well-maintained powerhouse that loves to
run. It fires up cleanly with an air-cooled tune that's eager to
please. Plus, it's always great to tell people how the rear mounted
engine is an engineering decision that puts the weight over the
rear wheels for excellent traction and less power loss. In fact,
this one was truly built to be a drive. The Super Beetle revived a
better MacPherson strut front suspension, and this particular one
was upgraded to four-wheel disc brakes. VW fans know this is still
not a speed machine, but the with a hardy motor, sharper handling,
and the control of the four-speed manual transmission all come
together for quite a nice driving classic.
The 1973 Super Beetles are unique machines, and this one even has
been built to be a better all-round driver. It means the hardest
decision on this one is how quick can you come and grab this deal.
