Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is what many of you Chevy fans have
been waiting for. You'll love to read the trim tag that tells us
this was not only born an X33 car, but also the absolutely awesome
color combo inside and out is factory-correct, too. That's why this
one has been given a meticulous full restoration that was only
completed a few months ago. So if you were looking to turn back the
clock to 1969, this is it!
When you want a Camaro that people will take notice of from blocks
away, it helps to start with Daytona Yellow. This factory-correct
color is arguably the most vibrant hue ever offered on a Camaro,
and this one has the awesome modern clearcoat application to make
sure it glows as bright as your nostalgia. We all know that only
real-deal Z/28s get to wear the racing stripes. The black looks so
good against the yellow, that this one also has a black vinyl roof.
And this has your favorite sporty details, like the front air dam,
D80 rear spoiler, 15-inch Rally wheels, and the Super Scoop cowl
hood. The story on this one is that it was first purchased less
than an hour from our showroom. While it was female-owned, this was
not a little old lady. She pulled the drivetrain and turned this
Z/28 into a drag race monster. And since it lived its life only an
1/8-mile at a time, the odometer is even believed to reflect the
car's full original mileage. Of course, the condition you see it in
today is nothing like the blacktop days. The car was given a full
restoration to bring it back to day one status, before it was
turned into a track machine. This was complete only a few months
ago, and the car has only been driven about 50 miles since. And you
can really see and feel the quality in details, like the panel
alignment, correct badging, classic Goodyear tires, and even the
way the doors close with confidence that even the factory couldn't
often deliver.
You're going to leave all the windows down on this hardtop every
time you take it to the car show. The premium Yellow Houndstooth
option was traditionally only available to those who chose the bold
exterior yellow. So it's a special interior that has an awesome
yellow and black coordinating look with the exterior. And since
this presentation is so special, they made sure to invest in
quality over every inch. This is a detail-oriented package, and so
even the little things are working, like the dome lights, AM radio,
and clock. But this time capsule is also built where you won't be
able to resist adding to the low odometer. The wood-rimmed sport
steering wheel, large speedo & tach, quad auxiliary gauge package
in the center console, and Hurst shifter all get your enthusiast
blood pumping.
Even the engine bay has day one status. Because this car's unique
competition history has this one with the engine out quite soon
after purchase, they took the time to source a correct DZ-code 302
cubic-inch motor. Now the special V8 has been rebuilt to look
fantastic. Great pieces are in place, including the finned valve
covers, GM Winters intake, and the air intake that can grab fresh
air from the cowl hood. You'll even love the details, like the
working hood light, new brass freeze plugs, and all the correct
decals. As you look underneath the car, it shows you how fresh this
one is everywhere, and you'll also notice more pieces, like the
notched dual exhaust. The V8 fires up with a smoothness you'll
love, and the Muncie M21 is stout enough to handle all the power
this race-ready motor is putting down. This close-ratio four-speed
stick combines with the 12-bolt Positraction rear end to make you
solid off the line. The final part to this speed and control
package is Chevy adding a set of front disc brakes.
The sale comes with the car's original title, final payment stub,
and drag racing article about the first owner. So this is the
awesomely restored and distinct real-deal Z-car that also knows how
to tell its unique story. Call now!
