car years were winding down thanks in part to emissions and fuel
efficiency regulations, this '71 Charger SE rolled off the assembly
line. It's truly a uniquely finished car that was fitted with a
great number of factory options, just the way a young, female
school teacher wanted it. A 383ci V8, leather interior, factory air
conditioning, bright exterior color, and hide away headlamps are
just a few of the options that were chosen when the car was
ordered. The car remains highly optioned and finished in the
original Hemi Orange exterior color with white vinyl roof and
saddle tan interior. Proudly wearing the factory correct Hemi
Orange (code EV2), this is a car that screams performance as you
take in all the details. The woman who sat and ticked box after
option box at the dealership created a luxury, performance vehicle.
The white vinyl canopy option is in good company with the hide away
headlamps, painted mirrors, and 15 rallye wheels. Other Dodge
correct, and period correct exterior options that were added by the
second owner of this car are, the gull wing spoiler, power bulge
hood, blackout applique section of the hood, and dual exhaust with
bright exhaust tips. All the options make for an aggressive looking
Charger. The exterior has been extremely well maintained over the
years - the body is solid and original with nice panel fitment and
all trim showing really well. We mentioned that the car was
optioned as a luxury performance car, so lets take a look at the
luxury aspect of this unique MOPAR. This car was ordered with an
odd color to pair with the Hemi Orange exterior - Saddle Tan (code
CRT7). Not quite the black or white interior that you may expect,
but it does make for a more unique car. The Saddle tan leather
interior is all original, which is very impressive as the leather
feels supple and shows little wear. Other interior options that
were added upon ordering this car are Center fold down seat, tan
upper door frame, shoulder seat belts, and RimBlow steering wheel.
A factory correct AM/FM/Cassette unit was added by the previous
owner since the car was originally ordered only with an AM radio.
Adding to the growing list of nice options on this car is a 383ci
V8 with a single 2BBL carburetor. A 727 torqueflite automatic
transmission handles gear selection. The engine and transmission
are original to the car, but another upgrade added by the previous
owner is a Carter 4BBL carburetor to give the 383 a little more
oomph. Again, while perusing the engine/chassis options, more
option boxes were checked to make the car a little more special. A
8.75 rear axle with 3.23 gears, HD Suspension, power steering,
power disc brakes, and a 26 radiator were added to the lengthy
order/option list. This uniquely finished and highly optioned car
is a classic that would be difficult to find another like it. So
many great options, and a true MOPAR muscle car, this is a car that
any muscle car enthusiast should take a close look at. Be sure to
