In 1980-1981 over 40,000 Corvettes were produced. In 1982, GM cut production to just 6759 with only 2500 available with the CB radio option. This was one of the very few options available for the Collectors Edition Corvette. Even the Silver Beige Color combo was standard and the only color choice available. The Collectors Edition brought on a few firsts and lasts for the Corvette.
The '82 was the first Corvette to exceed the $20,000 price tag.
The '82 was the first Corvette with fuel injection since 1962.
The '82 was the first Corvette to offer an automatic transmission Exclusively
The '82 was the last C3 Corvette which began its run in 1968.
It was a pace setter to say the least!
No Corvettes were produced in 1983 as GM was preparing for the release of the new C4 for the 1984 model year.
The engine was a standard 350ci / 200hp (L-83 / 5.7 liter) with Cross-Fire Fuel Injection and an automatic transmission. No other engine option was available. Wheels are the factory originals and brakes are as good as new!
This Collectors Edition Corvette has been judged by NCRS as a Top-Flite Corvette receiving a 96 point score out of a possible 100 over a decade and just 2000 miles ago.
