United States from Spain, where the seller acquired it near Seville
in July 2020. The previous owner used it as a recreational vehicle.
Finished in a gray metallic with a white, removable FRP top with
sliding rear side windows, the truck?s paint and trim are in
overall excellent condition. The body is straight and solid, the
engine bay is extremely tidy, the undercarriage is very nice and
the rear cargo area is in good, original order. This Land Cruiser
has black bumpers in good, original order. This Land Cruiser rolls
on Thunder Track-Grip M/T tires, size 245/75R16, with a
rear-mounted spare tire sized 245/80R16. All five tires are mounted
on white vented alloy wheels. The wheels and tires are all in very
good condition. Under the hood is a unicorn engine of sorts, a 2.5L
OHV turbodiesel five-cylinder from VM Motori (code HR588) with
Bosch or Spica indirect fuel injections. While many were
diesel-powered, the turbodiesel was a relatively rare option. From
1987 until 1991, the BJ73 hardtop was available in the Italian and
Spanish markets with this engine?the ?B? prefix was applied because
the first four-cylinder diesel 70 series came with the 3B. Backing
this motor is a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed,
part-time transfer case. Inside is a gray interior with patterned
cloth seating surfaces and vinyl seat sides. The black carpet and
gray headliner are in satisfactory shape. The three-spoke steering
wheel looks great, as does the gray instrument panel with its full
complement of gauges. The inner door liners are a testament to the
use this truck has experienced throughout its life. A floor-mounted
shift, transfer case lever and an AM/FM stereo with CD player round
out the interior. Originally, model numbers 70 through 74 referred
to the two-door short- and medium-wheelbase versions. These were
the successors of the 40 Series, such as the FJ40. Toyota split the
Land Cruiser line into more comfort-oriented ?wagon? versions, such
as the 60-, 80-, 100- and 200-series trucks but it kept building
the 70-series for more serious off-road duty. Documentation
included four keys, original owner's manual, Spanish technical
inspection card, copy of Spanish title and importation documents.
