For consignment let's talk BIG. But we will back it up with this
consignment which is an excellent condition 2002 Ford XLT F350
Super Cab. Plenty of room in the bed for anything, and plenty of
room in the interior with room for 6. Dual doors for easy access,
4x4 capabilities, and all in beautiful Dark Shadow Gray. Also, not
to forget an undercarriage that is as clean as a whistle, and a
record of maintenance and repairs as long as your arm. It's all
there and working like a charm. READ ON!
You know you are dealing with a big 4x4 when you need to get one a
ladder to look under the hood! From its pristine front grille all
in chrome, to the massive bumper below complete with extra running
lights, to its trimmed wheel wells, big rear-view mirrors and top
of cab lighting, we could almost be climbing into a big rig. All
straight as laser steel, well minded gaps, tinted glass, a front
bug shield, and nice badging all correct, this all resides within a
Dark Shadow Gray metallic painted background. The paint is like
new. In back the large bed is lined with a Trail FX ribbed tough
plastic liner which presents as excellent. Even the top of the gate
has lining so underneath the original metal bed remains pristine.
16-inch shiny wheels are wrapped in LT285/75R16 knobby off-road
rubber. Now that's a big deal!
A swing of the main doors and the 2 smaller rear access doors and
we have full access to the crew cab. 2-tone gray molded panels
cover the doors and are very clean. On the driver's door are power
window toggles, a lock switch, and a mirror adjustment switch
complete with newly installed LF and RF window regulators, and a
new mirror switch. Seating is all covered in gray broadcloth and
seats, buckets in front and a rear bench, show very slight wear. In
the center is a massive fold down armrest which can be flipped up
and magically it provides another front seat position. The dash is
in factory original condition, and on the driver's A pillar are a
trio of gauges which descend in size as they move down the pillar.
An aftermarket radio is now installed and it has the capabilities
of not only radio, but Bluetooth phone connection, CD player and
Sirius connectivity if you get the subscription. Tough black
textured vinyl covers the floors and is very clean. In the center
dual shift levers rise to meet the driver's hand. Up above is a
tight light gray headliner.
Within the engine bay is a 7.3 liter Powerstroke Turbo-diesel V8.
It is fed by EFI and there is a ZF 6-speed manual transmission on
the back. Noted is the newly installed Stage 3 Phoenix clutch,
slave cylinder, Ford flywheel, a new throwout bearing, clutch fork
and transmission mount. I told you it was well cared for! Some
slight corrosion on a few bolt ons can be noted.
Amazingly there is absolutely no road dirt on the undercarriage,
just straight rust-free black steel making up the solid framework
and steel floor pans. Consigner states that a new steering gear and
tie rod ends are now on, new shocks, and a new hydro boost for the
brake master cylinder. Also seen is a 4-inch Diamond exhaust, as
well as new manifolds that have been attached to the mill. Leaf
springs for the suspension all around as are power disc brakes on
all 4 corners.
This powerful turbo diesel fired right up, and we climbed aboard
and it was off to the test track. Here we put it through its paces
and found no problems with solid acceleration, bias free fantastic
braking, and steering was nice and tight. We shifted into 4-wheel
drive and were going to climb up the Classic Auto Mall building but
then thought the better of it. The 4WD system worked flawlessly
just like everything else on this truck.
Sitting high and mighty gives one a feeling of power, and when you
press the diesel pedal it gives a quick response. This truck will
not break the land speed record, or smoke the quarter mile, but
then if you want that you'd look at a muscle car! If you want
hauling and towing power, and the ability to go anywhere then take
a serious look at this very clean Ford F350 Super Cab Turbo Diesel
