When I say it is from our fussiest customer, I mean it. I hate
selling him a car but love to buy his cars! His cars typically look
like new and they also function like new. This one is no exception,
wow is it nice. The numbers match on the motor and trans, correct
colors according to the tag. It has been body off the frame
restored.
EXTERIOR: Repainted it's original silver pearl metallic, code 986.
I just inspected the body closely, it is in excellent shape,
everything fits spot on. The headlight buckets are nice and square,
the doors fit beautifully and close like new. The metal flake is
laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished to a very smooth
glossy finish. If you look with a microscope you might find a
couple tiny imperfections. Show quality chrome on the bumpers. All
of the light bezels, emblems, mirrors, handles, gas door look new.
It has a factory power antenna. The stainless window trim looks
new. All the glass is crystal clear. The hubcaps look new. The
tires are so new the nubs are not worn off the tread yet. They are
reproduction redline radials that look like bias ply. The previous
owner but the blackwalls out because he preferred that look, they
can be flipped back around.
INTERIOR: It is exceptionally nice inside. All the gauges look
pristine, the clock is upgraded with quartz movement. The original
radio is updated internally and has an auxiliary plug. Dash pads
look mint. Glove box door looks new, inside is an owner's manual
and a new liner. Door panels are mint, the knobs and handles
sparkle. Carpets looks new front to back. Console is excellent, the
shifter was upgraded with a Hurst. The seats have firm cushions and
have been reupholstered. There's a little patina on the seat belt
buckles. Looking around it is very nice. Interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Only 100 miles since professional rebuild. It
is a #s matching 327-300 hp motor that was rebuilt to 350 hp specs,
it even has correct aluminium intake. We have video clip of it
running on the engine stand at the machine shop. The engine is
meticulously detailed. It has the finned Corvette aluminium valve
covers, sparkling chrome ignition shielding and air cleaner. It has
reproduction hoses and clamps. The radiator, clutch fan, expansion
tank, shroud look pristine. The battery is properly bolted down,
has reproduction spring clamp cables and a disconnect switch. The
alternator looks brand new. The finishes are smooth, hood hinges
and brackets are detailed. Upgraded dual reservoir brake master
cylinder.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the chassis. The frame was
powder coated. Every component was rebuilt or replaced and
detailed- suspension, steering, bushings etc. New shocks, upgraded
QA1 adjustable gas shocks. 1965 was the first year for disc brakes,
they are at all 4 wheels. The calipers, brake lines, e-brake
assembly all look new. Looking up at the motor it is spotless, it
has a tag from the rebuilder on the side. Starter looks new.
Rebuilt vin #s matching Muncie 4-speed trans. The linkage, trans
mount, bell housing are spotless. The rear end is also detailed.
The exhaust was completely replaced. The bottom of the body was
cleaned down to it's raw fiberglass, it is in excellent condition.
The body was reunited with the chassis using new bushings. The
spare tire carrier is complete and detailed. It looks new under
this Vette right down to the smallest detail.
This is an exceptional Corvette. When any of us buy a collector
car, we hope it is in this condition. It will be a pleasure to
own.
