For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in Lavergne, Tennessee

Vehicle Description

A 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop is a true dream car for most of us. In fact, that's why this one has remained in the same family for over 50 years. And it even received a later restoration to make sure it remains a true V8 icon of distinction.

The well-presented look of this desirable hardtop is no accident. This Chevy was purchased new only about an hour from our showroom. It went to its second owner in 1969, and it has remained with the father and son of that family ever since. Over those decades this has been treated with care, and there was even a restoration in 2006-2007. There was a solid investment in its factory-correct Regal Turquoise and India Ivory two-tone. That means an authentic appearance enhanced by the best in modern shine. There's even a hint of pearl that looks great on a sunny Sunday drive. Plus, the full brightwork package remains complete and quite original. So you get everything you love, including the wraparound bumpers, jet-inspired hood ornament, and bright trim highlighting the pillarless hardtop profile. It really is authentic, right down to the color-matched wheels with two-piece trim and whitewalls.

The interior shows a similar level of care and authenticity in the restoration. The factory-correct turquoise coordinates with the exterior color to give this a nice flow inside and out. This is especially true in places like the where there's also a nice white, like the door panels and the sharp headliner. Plus, the straw tan is a tasteful color for the textured seat inserts. This has all the best details, like the smooth twin cowl dash, side vent windows, and artful steering wheel. Even the AM radio is still there for display. So every drive feels like rolling nostalgia.

Part of what makes these cars a legend is that 1955 was the first production year for the small block V8. So when you open the hood, it's great to see such an authentic 265 cubic-inch V8 still so proudly displayed - right down to the Chevrolet script valve covers. This VC-code Bel Air was born a V8 coupe, and the motor was replaced with a correct 1955 unit during the restoration. Both the motor and Powerglide automatic transmission were rebuilt before being installed, and there's a strong-running nature today that reinforces this quality feeling.

This Bel Air has a great legacy, and that's why it even comes with some of its past trophies. So if you want an icon that looks great and also has a story to tell, you know you can't pass up this '55 Chevy. Call today!!!
