transmission. Braking power comes from the power front disc brakes.
This Torino is still sporting the ram air optional air cleaner.
This Cobra Jet runs and drives just as it should. The red exterior
is in excellent condition. The chrome and stainless trim are also
in very good condition. The exterior is enhanced by the fastback
stance, Chrome GT style wheels, black factory style stripes, and
the factory functional hood scoop. The factory black interior is in
very good condition. Nicely optioned with factory clock, factory in
dash tach, power steering, dual rear speakers, bucket seats, center
console, factory seat belts, and factory tinted glass. Included in
the sale of this Torino GT is some great documentation. That
documentation includes the original window sticker, original build
sheet, Marti report, and a copy of the magazine that the car was
featured in. Part of the great story behind this Ford is the
previous owners hunt for the Torino that got away. The story is
documented in the "Mustang & Ford" magazine that this Cobra Jet was
featured in the centerfold. It started in 1971 when he was looking
for a car and his mother helped him choose a 1969 351 powered
Torino that was totaled by his brother a couple years later. 21
years after purchasing the first Torino, he found this beautiful
428 Cobra Jet Ram Air powered Torino GT. He kept the car and made
some performance upgrades during his long time ownership of 28
years. Another part of the story is the color change. His wife was
big supporter of his passion for the Torino and hated the original
Meadowlark yellow exterior. So to support her in return, he
repainted the Torino GT to red under the advice from his wife and
mother, that was a big part of the beginning of the story. Cars
like this Cobra Jet Ram Air powered "R" code 1969 Ford Torino are
becoming very difficult to find. Don't miss this opportunity.
