This frame-off, rotisserie-restored dark green custom-built lead
sled was professionally built over several years with thousands of
hours of handcrafting each detail of the car. It was purposely
built for the Detroit Autorama. It was chopped 3-1/2 inches at the
A pillars and the B pillars were removed and hard-topped 7-1/2
inches. The rear end of car was torpedo backed with a frenched
custom '52 Cadillac bumper and the corners were rounded. Everything
has been shaved, and the hood modified with a forward 3-1/2-inch
tilt. At the front is a custom '52 Cadillac Dagmier grille,
custom-fabricated and frenched late-model Dodge headlights and
reversed front turn-signal lights. This professionally painted
custom lead sled features an all-steel body with laser-straight
panels and custom metal-finished Buick-style quarter-panels with
shaved stock Merc door drops. The underside of the hood - in fact,
the whole underside of the car - is as smooth and shiny as the
exterior. No detail was left undone. This car is powered by a dual
overhead cam 32-valve hemispherical Q45 engine from Indianapolis
500 and the Infinity Pro-series race team. It is a computerized
tune port-injected V8 engine with 700R4 automatic overdrive
transmission and custom polished stainless exhaust with Swagelok
quick-connects. The car sits on Air Ride Technologies bags at all
four corners with a Fatman tubular front suspension and Air Ride
Technologies 4-bar rear suspension. A set of 4-piston SSBC Elite
engraved disc brakes on all four wheels provide stopping power to
the billet aluminum wheels with new tires. The professionally done
black interior features custom-upholstered leather seats, custom
console, one-off custom-built Dakota Digital dash, power windows,
power seats, Vintage Air heat and air conditioning and a Shock Wave
dual-amp boombox stereo.
