Vehicle Description
The great thing about custom rides like this super cool Silverado
is their unmatched ability to express a creative vision. For many
of us, cars are essentially the canvas for our art, and like the
Michelangelos and Picassos of any medium, great builders continue
to delight with great variety! While some might think mentions of
Michelangelo or Picasso create lofty comparisons, it's certainly
hard to argue that this Chevy isn't the very best of its kind. For
starters, it's benefitted from a two-year, national award winning
build that, in addition to drawing crowds, can be comfortably
cruised pretty much anywhere. It boasts an impressive LS drivetrain
that's been professionally supplemented with two turbos. And,
unlike most traditional customs, it features niceties like modern
air conditioning, thundering audio and the very latest in cutting
edge suspension technology. Looking for a one-of-a-kind truck
that's ready to show and play? You've found your next work of
art!
AIM HIGH!
Created as a tribute to the heroes of the United State Air Force,
this rock-solid Chevy is the product of a detailed, two-year build
that took immense planning and well over six figures to complete.
According to the rig's owner, his goal was to fashion something
totally opposite of the bagged and lowered rides he'd enjoyed for
years. So, he started thinking about lifted Square Body Chevys and
eventually settled on the idea of creating a modern interpretation
of the 1980s icons everyone loves. This custom's factory body
shines Chevrolet-optional Deep Ocean Blue Metallic two-stage under
a roster of buff detailing. And today, the truck rolls as one
wicked manifestation of strength and ambition paraded by one of the
final Regular Cab Silverado pickups produced for America!
While aiming high is often connotated with high spending, the true
nature of this beast is details. The truck's long roster of cool
features kicks off with a tough T-Rex grille, finished in GM Blade
Silver Metallic, that centers dual-mode LED motion lighting behind
a familiar Chevy bowtie. That emblem, doused in a striking
combination of Deep Ocean Blue and Blade Silver paint, shades a
buff Fab Fours bumper that's been custom-fabricated around
blue-trimmed ZROADZ cube lights. Those lights look great under
body-matched GM headlamp assemblies, which incorporate Demon Eye
color theatrics behind Klearz parking lenses and Air Force-themed
projector glass that was custom-etched by Chattanooga, Tennessee's
THC Concepts. The truck's hood and front fenders, protected by high
quality LLumar film, cage a color-keyed Stubby antenna between
pocketed Bushwacker flares. Behind those flares, tricked out tow
mirrors reflect a tinted greenhouse, which opens via lit Cadillac
Escalade door handles. Factory doors swing custom, Chevrolet High
Country-style "AIM HIGH" badging over electronic AMP Research steps
that have been customized to fit the truck's Regular Cab chassis.
Behind that cab, Deep Ocean Blue Metallic 2-stage coats a crisp
Retrax bed cover that, customized to fit around a Fab Four Headache
Rack, reflects more color-keyed ZROADZ cubes. A custom aluminum bed
floor joins quality BedRug lining to crawl to a factory tailgate
that's finished with smooth Dee Zee assist. That gate, branded with
custom badging and a second dressed bowtie, is centered on two more
Bushwacker flares and smoked, LED taillights. And those lights
shade a second Fab Fours bumper, which hangs another round of
ZROADZ cubes above a one-off 'fighter jet' exhaust tip that was
created by Concord, North Carolina's ProFabrication.
TWIN TURBO LS
Speaking of ProFabrication, they specialize in a little bit more
than fancy exhaust tips. Grab a step ladder, pop this Chevy's hood
and feast your eyes on a low-mile EcoTec3 V8 that, thanks to
ProFabrication, utilizes rear-mount Comp turbos to turn an easy 6
pounds of boost into roughly 500 horsepower. At the front of that
trusty LS mill, GM serpentine components spin a modern alternator
opposite a factory AC compressor. At the top of the engine, a
polished air tube funnels breeze through a GM throttle body and a
massaged intake. Sparks are sequenced from factory electronics,
tuned by PCM of NC, to reliable GM plug wires. Compression is
created by Chevrolet Performance rods and a custom VVT cam. Spent
gases roar through quality Kooks headers and a polished Kooks
Y-pipe. And details like a painted shroud, painted coil covers, a
hot Optima battery and a bowtie-branded closeout panel ensure this
Chevy has the looks to match its performance!
LIFTED LIFE
Here's where things start to get crazy. Real crazy. An artful
collaboration between Charlotte area businesses Wheel & Tire
Exchange and R&L Customs, the bottom of this Silverado is
nothing short of amazing! Everything started with LINE-X frame
spray and a 3-inch Daystar body lift. Everything ended with an
insane 15-inch suspension lift that was laser-cut and
custom-fabricated by Fresno, California's Full Throttle Suspension.
Naturally, that entire set-up has been powder-coated silver to
either match or contrast this Chevy's strict Blade Silver and Deep
Ocean Blue aesthetics. Behind the 5-3, a reliable GM Hydra-Matic
6L80 6-speed spins dressed factory diffs. Factory-style power
steering makes parking easy and turns a cinch. Solid stops are
provided by power-assisted Wilwood calipers, which clamp a total of
20 pistons around 16 and 14.25-inch rotors. The aforementioned
Y-pipe feeds polished ProFabrication exhaust. Brown and Miller
Racing fluid lines join plated, Nitrogen-filled shock reservoirs to
ensure all pneumatics and hydraulics are up to snuff. A VIAIR
compressor spools HornBlasters Katrina 540 train horns to ensure
that, in addition to being seen, you'll certainly be heard. Power
meets the pavement through custom-forged Rogue wheels, which twist
40x15.50R28 Fury Country Hunter M/Ts around Deep Ocean Blue
accents. And world class detailing includes items like polished
bolt caps and a whopping 48 rock lights that, like the truck's
other LEDs, are controlled from an Alpine touchscreen head
unit.
STAR-LIT CUSTOM
When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a comfortable custom
cockpit that feels like the center of the universe! Front and
center, a blue-trimmed dash hangs Alpine touchscreen audio above
reliable factory climate control. A custom console, created from
Chevrolet High Country components, splits diamond-stitched buckets
that wear Alea Leather Italian Leather covers. Those thrones float
on tough WeatherTech flooring, which frames custom side panels that
feature dressed handles, trick fiber optic lighting and crisp JL
Audio speakers. Those speakers, totaling a family of six, join a
12-inch JL Audio subwoofer and a 5-channel, 900-watt JL Audio amp
to form a custom sound system that was professionally installed by
Lexington, South Carolina's Ultimate Audio. That amp rides in an
illuminated, hand-built rack that nicely complements the truck's
fiber optic 'star lite' headliner. And the driver traces turns
through a tilting Chevrolet steering wheel.
Head-turning, spectacularly upgraded and ready to roll, this sweet
Silverado is both cool and exclusive. Wrapping twin-turbo power in
a buff lift and expressive style, it's an iconic, all-American
custom that's ready to own the street and steal the show. Call,
