Vehicle Description
This 1980 Chevrolet Blazer K5 4x4 has that cool/classic look you
love, an A/C interior, and some well-placed upgrades. So to get
this legendary convertible SUV for such a great price is just the
cherry on top.
These full-size K5 Blazers have well-creased lines that look
especially rugged on these short wheelbase SUVs. The silver paint
radiates nicely, and so you look good at stoplights. But it's also
not the kind of finish that you'll be afraid to take off-road.
After all, that's what a proper 4x4 fun is all about, right? There
are more nice upgrades, like how the intimidation factor is raised
with the cowl hood and black side mirrors that coordinate with the
black hardtop. There's even some nice polish everywhere from the
bumpers to the upgraded 16-inch ION alloys. And because you want
plenty of function in a Blazer like this, it also has a bit of
extra height in its stance and there's a proper trailer hitch on
the rear.
Inside is a tasteful mixture of gray and black. There's dual bucket
seats up front with a cup holder center console in-between, and the
rear has adult-size legroom while still leaving space behind it for
everyone's cargo. We love this generation of Chevy trucks and SUVs,
because the dash just seems to wraparound you. And the tilt
steering column really upgrades the feeling of personal space. So
it's an easy reach to features like the factory-style AM/FM radio
and the cold-blowing air conditioning. That last feature is
particularly handy, because it keeps you cool even when you decide
to take off the rear hardtop and enjoy this Blazer as a
convertible.
This Blazer was born with Chevy's iconic 350 cubic inch V8
according to the build sticker we have on file. So it is great to
see this one still has the proper 350 V8 under the hood, only this
one is now a remanufactured block that was just installed January
2021! It has some upgraded polished components for flair, but what
you'll really like is that it has also been upgraded with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, Summit aluminum intake, and brand new
radiator. The motor fires up nicely, like a confident machine. Of
course, what also adds to that poise is the go-anywhere nature of a
two-speed 4x4 transfer case. But this off-roader was also meant for
in-town driving, too. That's why you have a three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, and power brakes with front
discs.
Complete with owner's manual, rarely do you find a K5 4x4 that's in
your budget. And this one even has desirable features like working
A/C. So you know this is a hot deal that will be moving quickly.
