Vehicle Description
This 1929 Ford 5-window coupe is one of the last Boyd Coddington
builds to be completed. It was approximately 75% complete in the
Hot Rods by Boyd shop at the time of Mr. Coddington's passing. The
car was later finished by professional builder Jeff Eischen. It
comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Hot Rod's by Boyd.
Taking Boyd's design, the all-steel body was body was heavily
modified by Marcel's Custom Metal. A custom-built frame features a
torsion bar front suspension with billet dropped axle and
wishbones. A 4-bar rear suspension keeps the Winters Quickchange
with custom billet Coddington housing and axle tubes in place. The
billet wheels are Coddington true knock-offs. Much of the custom
chassis and billet suspension were designed and built by Mike
Curtis in Boyd's Shop. The car is motivated by a highly detailed
350ci 8-cylinder Chevy engine topped with a Barry Grant SixShooter
intake with three Demon 98 carburetors and custom-fabricated air
cleaner. Backing the engine is a TCI Turbo 350 automatic
transmission. The simple yet elegant hot rod-style leather interior
features buckets seats on hand-built bases, chrome steering column
with quick-release roadster wheel, and vintage-style Stewart Warner
gauges. In true Boyd styling, hot rod flames were added by
pinstriping legend Dennis Ricklefs. The craftsmanship and attention
to detail put into the build and the amount of custom billet pieces
make this '29 hot rod unique. Boyd's styling and innovation made
him a true legend in the hot rod world. **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE**
