With all-original sheet metal, this factory 13817 Super Sport was
completely frame-off-restored to its original Bolero Red exterior
with correct lower body Super Sport stripes and a black Strato
bucket seat Super Sport vinyl interior. The original L35 396ci
8-cylinder engine was replaced with a '69 L35, professionally bored
and balanced with competition cam and lifters, low-rise aluminum
intake manifold with dual 500cfm AVS Thunder Series 4-barrel
carburetors, Hooker headers and Flowmaster exhaust. The RPO VO1
heavy-duty cooling option has been replaced with an aluminum
radiator but retains the shroud and 5-blade fan. The original
Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission was replaced with a '70
Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission. The 12-bolt GM
posi-traction 3.73:1 rear end is original to the car and has the
stock Eaton spool. The RPO F41 special performance suspension is
original with new PST polyurethane bushings, tie rod ends and ball
joints, and new springs and shocks. All control arms, 4-link
trailing arms and factory frame were powder-coated in semi-gloss
black. The stock D1 drum brakes were replaced with stainless-steel
Brake Corporation 4-wheel disc brakes with 11-inch slotted rotors
and power booster. The U16 blinker tach is aftermarket. The RPO N40
power steering is correct, including remote reservoir, but is not
original to the car. The underside of this Super Sport is all
Bolero Red and appears stock, with exception of the stainless-steel
fuel tank, disc brakes and American Thunder exhaust. All four
American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels are 17 inches. This Super
Chevy Magazine Show Class winner was nominated for the Lucas Oil
Best of the Best National Award from the Pacific Northwest Super
Chevy Show. ** PREVIEW
