In today's marketplace, if you want an affordable V8 roadster, your
choices are somewhat limited. Our 1979 450SL is one of your best.
The Mercedes 450SL is a perfect illustration of an automobile
"engineered like no other car in the world". This all-original
2-owner (1 family)roadster has been well cared for and shows just
under 47,000 miles on the odometer. The original Milan Brown
exterior is in very good condition with only minor imperfections.
It is fitted with a factory removable hardtop with rack/lift/cover
and there is also a manually operated soft-top in good condition
but for two small holes. Weather stripping is in good condition
except for a minor issue on the windshield pillars. The original
Saffron leather interior has also been well maintained. Comfort
features include climate controlled A/C, power tinted windows,
cruise and an aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo sound system. The factory
'First-Aid' kit is even included. Powered by a 4.5L SOHC V8 with a
3-speed automatic transmission, this German luxury car will provide
all the driving fun you want, and do so in comfort. The silky
smooth motor, with Bosch fuel injection, produces 225bhp and
280lb/ft of torque. The Mercedes has power steering, 4-wheel power
disc brakes, a limited-slip differential and distinctive 14"
factory alloys that mount meaty Hankook Optimo radials. There is a
minor issue with the exhaust system that will need to be addressed
at some point. This classic Mercedes 450SL is going to provide
someone with a luxurious, open-air ride for much less than a new
sedan. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
