1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS- Factory 4-speed w/factory RPO 4.88:1 positraction rear axle. This low mileage, later production example has never been on a rotisserie and still wears its' original black vinyl top and factory glass. An Ohio BMV record request form has been submitted to verify mileage of 29,508. The 30+ year old, correct Bolero Red lacquer re-spray show signs of its' age but presents well from any distance and looks appropriately vintage. Sheet metal above and below the car appears original and rust has never been evident anywhere on chassis. Interior shows equally well and features factory equipped gage option including 5,400 redline tachometer. Bucket Seats and center console w/clock have been added and use factory brackets/hardware. All seats/surfaces of interior and carpets are in excellent condition (note original tire inflation psi sticker inside glove compartment). Original factory paint remains on the deck lid interior as well as original decals (see pic).
This fully operational "138" car has benefited by never sitting idle for years or decades, thus it has never required an extensive (invasive) restoration. Within past ten years, engine has been completely refurbished with much new hardware including a new clutch and carb. service. Red line tires and rally wheels were installed, 3" electric exhaust cutout kit was installed to get the full experience of this SS that was originally specified for the 1/4 mile! Most of the badging, trim and brightwork is original and present very nicely while never having been exposed to the damaging effects of prolonged exposure to sun, salt, rain etc... In a word, this car is "AUTHENTIC". It's the "real deal" for anyone looking for a last year, big body Chevelle. Consequently, median prices have risen significantly over the past 4 years.
Drive train details: replacement Mark IV 402 c.i. casting #3969854, date coded B11/70 paired with Hi Performance rect. port heads casting #3919840, date coded C26-9. Intake is factory aluminum Hi Rise casting #3933163, Holley Specific (chevelle, camaro, nova, COPO). Muncie 4-speed is a period (1966 & 67) casting #3885010 driving the factory 4.88:1, positraction, 12 bolt rear axle casting #8894939.
