Vehicle Description
Considered a street-legal race car, the BMW M4 GTS is the track
version of BMW M vehicles. With 2,862 actual miles, this car has
never been tracked, but instead has been used to fetch groceries
and has been stored in a humidity-controlled garage. While based on
the BMW M4 chassis, the GTS is a significant departure from the
base M4 vehicle. Powered by the award-winning 3.0-liter inline-6
engine and a 7-speed M dual-clutch automatic transmission with two
M modes, it produces a factory-rated 493hp and 442 ft/lbs of torque
with performance-enhancing water injection cooling the intake to
the twin turbos and a full titanium exhaust. The GTS achieves a top
speed of 193 mph, 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and had a Nrburgring lap
time of 7 minutes, 28 seconds. Original plans were to build 700 GTS
models in total, while an estimated 830 were actually produced.
Each U.S. dealership was said to receive one M4 GTS. Shortly after
the unveiling that took place on August 13, 2015, in Pebble Beach,
this example was requested from the dealership and was delivered in
November 2016. This Frozen Gray M4 GTS is equipped with ceramic
brakes, coilover and adjustable suspension and many carbon-fiber
components, which BMW used to lighten the car. No options were
available to the owner when the car was purchase outside of the
color; it therefore does not have the rear seat-mounted fire
extinguisher, which can be ordered. The interior sports two front
carbon-fiber bucket seats, racing-inspired lightweight doors with
nylon pull handles and a role cage that occupies the back seat. The
car is comfortable and could be driven daily with most conveniences
in place, with the exception of a backup camera. There are also
mounting points for racing seat belt harnesses and the glove box
has carbon-fiber componentry. The only modification made to the car
is a set of RKP GTS high-wing mounts, which raises the original
rear wing for better visibility through the rearview mirror. The
original mount set comes with the car and is simple to change back
to the original configuration.
