Vehicle Description
This 1974 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am tribute has a terrific color
combo, proper V8 power, and four-on the-floor. It's all about
delivering the right T/A kind of experience for those who love to
driver their classics.
This one really gets the Trans Am style with all your favorite
pieces, like the shaker hood, fender vents, flared fenders, and big
rear spoiler. And because this was upgraded to the aggressive red
paint later in life, it still retains a nice shine today. It's a
full color package that was done with a careful eye. For example,
1974 was the year for black bumper trim, and so this one utilizes a
coordinating Trans Am graphics package that includes black
accenting and bold block hood bird. Chrome bumpers were gone as
these coupes evolved, but it still keeps the right amount of
brightwork with the bright bezels and trim pairing with the
upgraded American Racing 17-inch polished wheels.
The black accents of the outside get you ready for a full black
package inside. There's a quality look on the bucket seats, door
panels, carpeting, and more to make this inviting. There are also
some worthwhile upgrades like an AM/FM cassette stereo with aux
input and R134a air conditioning (will need servicing before
blowing cold again.) But your favorite parts on this coupe are what
make it such a great sports car. The center console is great for
resting your right arm, and your hand falls right on the stick
shift. You get the cool T/A sports steering wheel, and it's mounted
on a tilt column. That gives you a great view of the full gauge
package set in the machine-turned panel.
The shaker on top of the air intake always makes for an impressive
style even with the hood up. And the engine bay for this 400
cubic-inch V8 is worth showing off just for its tidiness. There's a
look of quality here everywhere from the smooth Pontiac turquoise
block paint to the upgraded aluminum radiator. It tells you there
have been the right investments here, and the way the V8 fires up
and runs reaffirms it. The motor inhales deeply with a Quadrajet
four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with the right bass out of
the newer dual exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission shifts
nicely to give you confident control. Plus, this is an all-around
good driver with power steering, power brakes, front discs, sway
bars front & rear, and modern performance tires afforded by the
wheel upgrade.
This Trans Am tribute is a sharp-looking and sharp-driving classic.
