Wow, we have here a #s matching RS-SS with vin # matching 396, vin
# matching 4-speed, factory red, factory red deluxe interior!
Recently it has been treated to some desirable mechanical upgrades.
New air conditioning, 4 wheel disc and much more! They dont get
much more desirable then this.
EXTERIOR: Code RR on the tag= Matador red without a vinyl top. The
body shows beautifully, it's straight. New full quarter panels, all
metal fenders, bottom of the doors are clean. I don't see any rust
or damage. The Matador red paint is polished very smooth and
glossy. It looks like all of the chrome has been replaced- the
bumpers, grill, marker lights, emblems, velocity stacks on the
hood, handles, mirrors, tail lights, gas cap etc. All the stainless
trim around the windows, gutters and on top of the doors look new.
The Rally Sport hideaway lights were converted to electric motors,
they zip open and closed. It has spoilers and painted SS stripe.
The windshield is new. The door jambs are painted very nicely,
weather strips and window seals have been replaced. It has new 18
inch American Racing chrome wheels with performance Nitto
INTERIOR: Trim code on the tag is 725 = red deluxe interior. The
deluxe interior includes upgraded upholstery, molded armrest door
panels and wood grain trim on the console and dash. The interior
has been restored. The carpet has been replaced, it has
reproduction floor mats. The center console looks new and there's a
new Hurst shifter sticking out of it with the cue ball knob. In
front of me the metal is all repainted, it has a new dash pad and
steering wheel looks new. It's upgraded with a really nice set of
custom gauges and a premium retro stereo with hands free and
Bluetooth. The climate controls are upgraded with Classic Auto Air
electric slides instead of cables. Up above, the headliner, visors,
mirror and working dome light are new. The door panels, window
cranks and handles have been replaced. In back the speaker tray is
new, the trim is repainted and it has 6x9 speakers. The driver kick
panel is damaged.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a # matching 396 with optional 350 hp,
code MX. The vin is stamped on the motor, the dates align with the
car, the casting #s are correct. Recently there were significant
upgrades made under the hood. It's a brute, probably closer to 450
hp. The motor was upgraded with new aluminum heads and intake. It
also has a Pro Billet MSD ignition system, Patriot headers and a
dual feed Holley carb with electric choke. The front of the motor
is decked out with March billet brackets, pulleys and serpentine
belt system. It has a modern power steering, polished alternator
and a polished mini a/c compressor. A big aluminum radiator with
dual electric fans, aluminum overflow bottle and an aluminum water
pump keep it running cool. New chrome power brake booster and
polished master cylinder. The motor is dressed up with finned
aluminum valve covers. Is an upgraded wiper motor.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid trunk floor and it has full quarter
panels put on it factory seams with no splices. It's been spatter
painted has a new mat. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are
painted gloss red, new weather strip.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a thorough restoration.
It was reinstalled with new body bushings. Looking up at the motor
it is still fresh and clean. It has a new high torque starter and a
heavy duty scatter shield. The 4-speed Muncie is vin # matched to
this car. It has a hydraulic clutch and Hurst linkage. In back it
has a correct 12 bolt with 3.31 gears and a chrome cover. The front
end has been completely rebuilt- new tie rod ends, bushings,
shocks, ball joints etc. In back it has air shocks, new springs,
bushings and lowering blocks. Complete new brake system. It has
been upgraded with discs at all four wheels, new hoses, lines and
e-brake assembly. New fuel system including the tank, straps and
sending unit. It has a new exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
The metal under this car is very clean. The floors, inner rockers
and quarters are dry metal. It is a smooth satin black.
This Camaro checks many boxes. There are plenty of Camaros for
sale. Not many red, big block, 4-speed RS-SSs with matching #s! It
dpesnt stop there, the list of features is long.
