1979 Ford F-150 Indy 500 Edition 1/2 Ton

• Two-wheel drive. 133” wheel base.
• 302 2 barrel carb, Automatic.
• 6050 GVWR
• 86000 miles on the odometer(unknown if actual or if it’s more)
• Silver pewter with black sides, red/orange accent stripes.
• Four new P235/75R15 Extra Load 40,000 mile tires.

New parts installed:

• Battery
• Fuel tank, front with new front and rear sending units, fuel caps, filler hoses and fittings.
• Fuel pump

New parts included:

• Power steering hoses and reservoir cap.
• Rear left and right, quarter panel rust repair panels.
• Door body seals lefts and right.

Here's what it needs:

• Steering Gear seal
• Carburetor rebuild
• Rust repair both left/right rear lower rockers behind wheel openings
• Rust repair front lower bed
• Complete paint would be optimal, however, the natural patina has a lot of appeal.

Synopsis:

The Indy 500 Pace Truck F-150 was made in a limited number of editions both 2 and 4 wheel drive versions. There were about 4000 made and it is unknown how many have survived over 41+ years.  This Indy Pace Truck in essence, can be construed as Barn Find.

My son and I originally bought this F150 two years ago as a father/son project.  The truck ran and drove at the time we bought it.  But it’s been sitting due to lack of time and resources.  The Oregon title is in our names, it is clear of liens, and it has no adverse branding. 

This is a truck is running, but it is not drivable. Once some of the new parts are installed, then it will be drivable. The new owner can then give it the needed TLC to be proud of.

There are not a lot of comparable F-150 1/2 ton Indy 500 Pace trucks available.  I have done some considerable research, including this site, Hagerty, eBay Motors, Craigslist, Hemming's, as well as a few dealers across the states, and I found $7,995.00 is a fair middle price for this trucks present condition. I'm open to a fair offer.
