1979 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan, 5.7 L Engine, Automatic Transmission

COLLECTOR CAR- MOVIE RENTAL

Barn find! It was non-op status since 2014 in California. Have the full history of vehicle if you are interested, only two previous owners. Car has been completely gone through and inspected by master mechanic. Upon inspection this car exceeded wildest hopes and expectations. Only an alternator had been changed, everything else 100% original including the spark plugs and the original date stamped ignition wires. This Bonny really only has 42,200 actual miles on it! Still has that new car smell! No smokers.

First fluids were changed out immediately before even attempting start up. Gas was stinky indicating a long storage period and the gas gauge did not work. Valve cover gaskets petrified (original) leaking oil. 4 BBL Rochester Quadrajet untouched with all original chalk marks and vacuum lines. First thing was to drop the fuel tank and get all old gas out (found factory options paper in between body and fuel tank-see pic) and check the sending unit for the fuel gauge, found bad ground wire to sending unit (common problem for this make/model) problem solved. All gauges work. Changed the valve cover gaskets and inspected valve train and inside of engine, no sludge, no build up, looked new! Repainted valve covers and re- installed covers taking great care to not drop debris inside. Refreshed the carburetor with a gasket kit, jets and new float and base gasket, made factory sealed mixture screws available for tinkering. Started right up, runs very smooth and passed California's Stringent Emissions test first try with amazing numbers. Went through the cooling system and changed water pump, fan clutch, hoses, thermostat housing all for preventive maintenance and performance. This car can go cross country right now- no problem! I guarantee it. Love this car!  AC blows cold on original r12 Freon. Transmission pan dropped and inspected for debris, little found indicating normal wear. Transmission filter and fluid were changed. Transmission is good. Major tune up to include all the ignition wires, spark plugs, ICM, coil. with OE upgraded parts.

The exterior paint is in good condition with a few minor scratches and door dings. The vinyl top is original and in excellent condition. The interior is super sexy red vinyl, clean and comfortable. Dashboard is excellent-no cracks discoloration. Has all the bells and whistles except a clock and a CB. Has a cassette player with a few cassette tapes featuring the sounds of 1979. AM/FM radio works except the automatic antenna cable broke. Motor works but antennae works manually. Left rear window motor seized from non-use other than that this car needs nothing! Road ready!

All original parts removed have been saved and are included with the car.
