2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302
The Mustang Boss 302 is a high-performance variant of the Ford
Mustang originally produced by Ford in 1969 and 1970, alongside its
more powerful sibling the Boss 429 Mustang. Ford revived the Boss
302 nameplate for 2012. The standard 2011 Ford Mustang GT's
5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine is enhanced and was referred to within
Ford's development teams as the Road Runner engine.
For consignment a Red Race key active Boss 302 from 2012 and the
blue oval. An exceptionally clean example with Recaro seats, and
upgraded clutch line, HID head lighting, and all bathed in Race Red
with black accenting, powder coated black 19-inch wheels, and wide
radials...this beautiful example can shame any bowtie out
there.
Exterior
Ultra fine straight steel panels cover the solid framework of this
car, and are all bathed in Race Red. A shiny black front spoiler,
hood bump highlighter, black roof, rear spoiler and the hockey
stick cove surrounded by badging stripes all add some racing
inspired bling to the exterior. ACAP Films have the entire front
clip, mirrors and trunk edge protected with Expel PPF to add some
extra protection to the exterior paint. A lesson learned from the
consignor's drive home from his dealer purchase when a stone
flipped up and chipped the hood and windshield. The rock chips were
professionally repaired and the car was repainted from the
windshield forward. Tinted glass has black surrounds, and a black
rocker panel cover finishes off this street racer/Boss 302. 19-inch
powder coated wheels in black add to the overall look which is very
sporty and aggressive, yet still reminiscent of those that came
before this version.
Interior
Inside the passenger compartment, black suede and leather Recaro
racing seats are installed, and the center of attention for the
passenger compartment. The sporty dash with blue LED display
instruments fronts these seats and uses its sculpted lines to show
off sportiness throughout the interior. A rear 2 plus 2 seat is
installed and 2 more can go for the joyride! Black carpeting is in
nice clean condition, and in front Weather tech mats are protecting
this carpeting, as is a Weathertech panel for the rear trunk. With
plenty of conveniences this interior is all buttoned up and
pointing to excellent condition.
Drivetrain
Under the sculpted hood is the heart of the matter in the form of
the Boss 302 5.0 Liter Coyote V8 with EFI. An MT-82 6-speed manual
transmission is on the back of this buxom mill, and power gets
pushed rearward to a Ford 8.8 inch 3.73 TracLoc rear axle. At
night, some blue accent LED lighting shows up in the engine
compartment. Also, a note to the hydraulic clutch line which has
been upgraded to a high performance braided line.
Undercarriage
Simply put, just showroom underneath with factory overspray, aero
coverings, racing inspired suspension which is adjustable, and
power Brembo front disc brakes and rear discs add the woah factor
to counteract the go factor.
Drive-Ability
A solid runner, good acceleration and steady braking with rail like
handling. Interior seats are very comfy, and instruments are well
within the drivers eye scan. All functions were working as they
should. I noticed this car has a front curb sensor attached
within.
Just a beautiful example in excellent condition for this Boss 302
from 2012. Harkening back to the days of earlier models yet
contemporary ion its racy design to menace the competition.
