Vehicle Description
Professionally restored from the ground up and custom-built over a
2-year timeframe, this Pro-Touring 1967 Ford Mustang rides on a
custom aluminum Detroit Speed chassis and features a nicely
massaged body in the classic Shelby style, including the front and
rear valance panels and hood, with the hood and side scoops made
fully functional. The same level of care extends to the underbody,
fully restored, prepped and coated with bed liner for heat and
sound protection. The Mustang's body was professionally finished in
Axalta Candy Red Metallic with Dark Graphite Metallic stripes. The
custom interior is fully trimmed in leather with a vintage theme,
including woven leather seat inserts and trunk upholstery, a
one-off perforated leather headliner, and an aluminum-trimmed dash
housing Classic Instruments gauges. Amenities include Vintage Air
heat and air conditioning, and an AM/FM sound system with Bluetooth
capability. Power is delivered by a period-correct 1967-vintage
"FE" 428ci V8 engine, balanced, blueprinted and equipped with the
finest name-brand components available, including DSS forged
pistons, Eagle H-beam connecting rods, a COMP Cams hydraulic roller
cam and Harland Sharp roller rocker arms. A Borla 8-stack
electronic fuel injection system sends the fuel-air mixture to
Trick Flow cylinder heads topped with one-off EVOD custom rocker
covers. Supporting items include MSD ignition, custom
ceramic-coated headers, a full Borla exhaust, March serpentine belt
system, ACP aluminum radiator and a Rock Valley stainless fuel
tank. Professional dyno-testing reported 433hp at 5,400 rpm and 476
ft/lbs of peak torque at 3,750 rpm. Power is delivered by a ceramic
clutch with Lakewood bellhousing, TREMEC TKO500 5-speed manual
transmission and a new Ford 9-inch rear end housing 3.70 gears.
Detroit Speed underpinnings include tubular control arms, rack &
pinion steering, quad-link rear suspension and subframe connectors.
Baer brakes featuring 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers
provide stopping power. Custom one-off EVOD wheels mount Pirelli
245/35/ZR18 front and 335/30/ZR18 rear tires tucked underneath
Detroit Speed mini-tubs. While purpose-built for show competition
at a high level, this custom 1967 Ford Mustang has been shaken down
over some 320 test miles and fully sorted. A complete Marti Report
documents the Mustang's factory specifications and data. Once
completed, the Mustang debuted at the 2020 Grand National Roadster
Show in Pomona, CA, where it was selected for a Class Award in the
intensely competitive Semi Hardtop/Sedan 60-69 category. **SOLD ON
