Vehicle Description
Born in 1970, this handsome Chevelle is certainly a revered
classic. Given its 950 horsepower LSX454, trick transmission and
exceptional Schwartz G-Machine chassis, the car is definitely a
first-class pro-tourer. And as a stunning piece of Motor City
muscle that's comfortable, fully sorted and ready to rock and roll,
this coupe embodies a level of fun that most enthusiasts spend a
lifetime trying to attain. Looking for a world class collector car
that's brutally quick and undeniably cool? Check out this
incredible Chevy!
PROFESSIONAL ROTISSERIE BUILD
A literal manifestation of the phrase "wicked awesome", this
sinister Super Sport is the beneficiary of a ground-up rotisserie
build that left no bolt unturned. That highly detailed reboot,
conducted by the pros at Schwartz Performance, dressed
sophisticated PPG Charcoal in requisite Super Sport Stripes. And
today, this imposing custom celebrates timeless, all-American
swagger with precise, world-beating geometry!
Many enthusiasts believe the 1970 Chevelle is both the pinnacle of
muscle car design and the zenith of classic Chevy design. This
sorted exhibit of mechanical art kicks off with a stainless-trimmed
grille, which centers a prominent "SS" emblem between a small
"CHEVELLE" script, bright H4 headlights and a broad bumper that
reflects a metal, Rally-style chin spoiler. At the top of that
grille, a functional Cowl Induction Hood plants subdued
Ringbrothers pins opposite factory-tint glass that's framed in
straight stainless. At the sides of the car, monochromatic "SS"
badging adds a little pizzazz while traditional door handles
perfectly complement a duo of factory mirrors. And out back, a
second broad bumper stretches a clean Super Sport inlay between
conservative taillights and a classy Chevelle trunk emblem.
WHIPPLE, NELSON & CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE
Lift the hood and you'll find 454 cubic inches of proven LSX small
block that, sourced from Nelson Racing Engines and paired with a
Gloss Black Whipple supercharger, creates an insane 950 horsepower!
That blower gets fed by a custom, 4-inch Cold Air Intake, which
bends between color-keyed Whipple fuel rails. Color-keyed Brodix
heads cap a forged 4340 crank, forged aluminum pistons, forged 4340
rods and a spry hydraulic roller cam. Those internals funnel spent
gases through stainless, 2-inch tubes that were custom-fabricated
by Schwartz Performance. There's a massive aluminum radiator that's
slid between a dressed support, silicone hoses, a Schwartz cap and
big SPAL puller fans. An anodized Wegner Automotive serpentine
drive spins a black Sanden AC compressor opposite a black
Powermaster alternator. The fires get lit by an American Autowire
harness, a Holley Dominator ECU and loomed MSD plug wires.
Ancillaries are first rate in every way, with trick valve covers
and relocated coils complementing a trusty Wilwood master cylinder
and billet fluid reservoirs. And the iron, 6-bolt mill rolls in a
clean, PPG Charcoal engine bay that's finished with a smoothed
firewall.
LOOKS GREAT, DRIVES BETTER!
Take a gander under this cool A-Body and you'll find a sturdy
Schwartz G-Machine chassis that wraps a web of boxed and tubed
bracing in smooth, Satin Black paint. Those bones are sandwiched
between solid floorpans that have been appropriately restored for
the road, and a custom suspension that's been finished with splined
billet sway bars and triple-adjustable RideTech coil-overs. A tough
4L80E 4-speed, sourced from Finish Line, spins a custom steel
driveshaft, which twists a back-braced Moser 9-inch that's stuffed
with 35-spline axles. Stopping is a cinch thanks to 14-inch drilled
and slotted rotors, which get grabbed by 6-piston Baer calipers.
Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Spent
gases are handled by stainless, 3-inch exhaust which, created from
scratch by Schwartz Performance, swirls spent gases through
Mandrel-bent pipes and polished turbo mufflers. Ample fuel is
supplied by a custom, high capacity tank that's drained through an
internal pump and TechAFX lines. At the corners, Boyd Coddington
Hot Rods push 265/35R19 Bridgestone Potenzas in front of 345/35ZR19
Bridgestone Potenzas - and yes, you read that right, those are the
same rear tires that came stock on Ferrari's vaunted Enzo!
WORLD CLASS THREADS FOR A WORLD CLASS CAR
Open this Chevy's tight-fitting doors and you'll find a custom
leather interior that continues the car's theme of timeless but
better. Red-stitched SCAT Procar buckets, garnished with adjustable
headrests and modern shoulder belts, complement a recovered factory
bench. A leather-trimmed dash hangs Dakota Digital VHX gauges
beside controls for Vintage Air 3 Magnum air conditioning. At the
base of that dash, a factory console anchors a factory-look shifter
on European Wool carpet that's protected by piped and color-keyed
mats. At the edges of that rug, custom side panels hang spry power
windows amid billet handles and billet jamb hardware. The driver
spins a polished and half-wrapped wheel around a polished, tilting
column. Passengers store essentials in a custom-upholstered trunk.
And, just in case this Chevelle's supercharged LS isn't melodious
enough, sonic revelry is provided by an MP3-capable Custom
Autosound head unit that, thanks to a 5-channel Kicker amp, sends
400 watts to a quartet of Focal speakers and 500 watts to a 10-inch
JL Audio subwoofer.
Storming the streets almost 60 years ago, Chevrolet's ultimate
muscle machine remains one of the hottest collector cars on the
market. This incredible Chevelle pro-tourer is a world-class custom
that features a brutal drivetrain, an unbeatable chassis and many
well-executed details that make it the perfect combination of show
and go. There really isn't a better hobby on earth than owning a
classic car, and driving this exceptional coupe is an excellent way
to celebrate that hobby!
