Vehicle Description
This is a sleek and luxurious classic that has all the right
features you want: from an A/C interior to the numbers-matching V8
under the hood. So we're surprised, too, that a classic drop-top
like this is still affordable today. That's why it's time to get
your hands on this 1968 Buick Skylark Custom convertible before
someone else discovers its value.
You paid more for a Buick back in the day, but not everyone was
willing to invest in premium. So a '68 Skylark Custom convertible
is rare with only 8,188 produced. But there's a lot more to love
here than just rarity. The added expense for these was all about
style. The sweeping sides look great, with a contoured trim piece
that seamlessly swoops over the front fenders and through the door
line. It helps to highlight the curves that make this Skylark look
like a bird of prey. Buick seemed to like showcasing the most
dramatic lines, so the front end is dominated by shiny chrome and
pointed sharp edges. It's even more striking in the rear where the
tapered trunk meets the form-fitting bumper to create a look that
is positively European. Overall, it's an amazing work of art that
car companies wouldn't even attempt today, and you can see all of
it so well thanks to great care. That means big picture items, like
a quality look to the white convertible top and a sharp-looking
respray of the factory correct Teal Blue Mist. Even the details are
nice, like newer door seals. So this has been a loved convertible,
and the whole presentation really shows it.
While we like the way this one looks with the roof up, with the
flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal an even more impressive
interior. After all, the shining blue vinyl inside harmonizes with
the shining blue exterior vinyl to have a very well-coordinated
total appearance inside and out. There has been a solid investment
here so that this has a terrific stock style, right down to the
trim on the seats and the taut door panels. But if you look a
little closer, they also intergraded some great upgrades to makes
this classic an appealing modern cruiser. For example, the factory
air conditioning is now blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant.
And the classic Delco Buick AM/FM radio was restored so that you
can now also plug in your phone or iPod for modern music. Plus, the
updated three-spoke sports steering wheel goes with the front
bucket seats and center console to really make this feel like a
driver's classic.
Under the hood this car proudly shows off its original
numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch powerplant. The clean and correct
engine bay has bright Dante Red paint on the block, and some
well-done maintenance within. For example, the ignition has been
upgraded to a useful electronic unit, but it still has a
retro-style cap. And the entire cooling system was recently
serviced, including a new water pump, thermostat, coolant, and cap.
It makes for a smooth running and driving example of everything you
want in a vintage drop-top. That also includes nice cruising
features like the two-speed automatic transmission, power steering,
power brakes, and updated front discs.
This Skylark comes with its original warranty card, owner's manual,
and maintenance records. This level of presentation is usually
reserved for high-dollar classic, so you better hurry before this
bargain is gone. Call today!!!
