• Completed September 1, 1964
• One of 1,744 356C Cabriolets produced in 1964
• 1600cc engine 75HP (P715223) - matching
• Transmission 741 (81977) - matching
According to the Kardex, this Cabriolet was originally finished in
Ruby Red with a Black interior and options included chrome wheels,
Dunlop tires, and an AM/FM Blaupunkt radio has been installed. The
first owner was Helen P Squire from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Delivered
by P.C. Import located in Northbrook, Illinois. They were one of
the seven Porsche distributors in the USA in the early 1960s.
This is a great running open 356 project with a strong engine,
smooth shifting transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes. The paint
is older with some patina and imperfections. It will also need some
metalwork. The front floor pan, battery box, and longitudinal will
need to be replaced. However, it does have a matching number engine
and transmission per Kardex. It is becoming very difficult to find
good Cabriolet projects. This is a great opportunity to purchase a
matching number open 356 needing a little work at a reasonable
entry-level price.
