Built for twenty years and one of the most beloved off-road
vehicles to this day the Scout by International Harvester was one
rugged truck. It was designed and sold with the direct intentions
of competing with Jeep and the Land Cruiser by Toyota. They were
built in several different variants and had a few engine options
with some special packages even offered. Even though the Scout was
somewhat short lived International has been building AG equipment
and heavy duty trucks since the turn of the 20th century so they
knew how to build them rugged. This particular stunning over the
top example is finished in Harvester Red with a brand new Best Top,
new rubber, the original 345 that has been resealed with fresh
valve job, new exhaust, brakes, tires and hardware. This Scout was
originally a California truck where our consignor found it and
brought it back to life. It was largely rust free with the
exception of the bottoms of the rear quarters that have been
professionally redone with steel and the whole truck freshly
re-painted. This thing starts with the flick of the key, idles
perfectly, does not smoke or leak oil and goes down the road as
good as it looks. The off-road market is hot so don't miss your
opportunity.
