For Sale: 1966 Pontiac GTO in Erie, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1966 Pontiac GTO located in Erie, PA. I keep this GTO in a heated garage in a clean environment. I originally listed my 66 at the beginning of the year, but a recent household move from Carlisle to Erie, PA; I decided to take the original listing down, basically, with packing, I just did not have much time to dedicate to my 66. This is a real beauty and wonderful to drive! Per previous owner, this solid PHS numbers matching driver with original Cameo Ivory exterior had a paint respray over 20 years old and still looks great. Automatic transmission, (Power-glide) California emissions car (originally from California). Original 335 hp, EX coded 389-4bbl motor with Carter AFB Carb were rebuilt in 2016 and works and runs great. The radiator, original Harrison re-cored 2016, cost over $425.00. Could have chosen cheaper with an aluminum aftermarket but decision to have the original re-cored so it would look right was the correct choice. Has custom factory air conditioning in place but does not cool, not have attended to as of yet. Steering on this car, with the bias ply tires (Coker G70x14) on Rally 1 wheels is tight. Control arms, ball joints, tie rods look great visually and no reason to suspect they need replaced. I have driven it on back roads, state routes and the intestate, at speeds, with absolutely no issues. The new badges dress it up a lot, bumpers are new and look great. New, polished stainless wheel well trim looks great with them Rally one’s. New blue interior, new foam in the front seats make for a comfortable cruise. New headliner, carpet (carpet (1966/67 Blue carpet #16 loop pile), new rear window panel, and new vinyl dash pad dress up the interior. Correct floor mats, front and rear, purchased from Ames. The dash has an aftermarket tach in it. Not stock but doesn’t look bad and is functional. AM radio works, nothing to get excited about. Ha! I use blue tooth for music from my iPhone. It has its original trunk and floors. As you will see, everything is done with quality components, with the exception of the tach. I just have not gotten changing it and the in-place factory AC system. My intentions with this GTO beauty, was to tinker with it here and there and drive it in retirement, but a couple surgeries later; I realized my body would not be up to the task so reluctantly will be passing this beautiful gem of a GTO on to someone that has the time to enjoy and driving it.

***** Please note that with winter arriving soon to Erie, a test drive would not be possible as the roads would not permit. A ClassicCars.com Lemon Squad Inspection/test drive was performed November 9th, 2021. I can provide the inspection/test drive information upon request. CLASSICCARS REPORT #448588. *****
