This 1971 Datsun "Series One" 240Z Coupe was sold in Livingston,
NJ. to it's first owner, Mr. Irving Katz of Denville, NJ.
He owned the car just shy of 5 decades !!. Re-finished, just once
in gorgeous, original code "920" "Safari Gold" two stage finish
over Black.The still excellent, Black original dash, seat covers,
door panels and interior trim are amazing survivors showing no
wear... New carpeting was added , correct factory radio, fac.
correct pwr. antenna both functional.The period correct Abarth
(dual vertical tips)) exhaust is brand new. Factory,original wood
rimmed steering wheel was refurbished as well.
All rubber and gaskets, fuel line hoses and belts all replaced with
new OEM parts.The 14" Appliance slotted wheels were another popular
dealer item !!.
This amazing find is a "rare" Series One" car which had exclusive
options such as : verticle heat strips in the rear glass for rear
defroster, vents on rear hatch, 240Z emblem on roof pillars,
speedometer which starts at "20 mph"!!..
*Only 16k of these Series One cars were shipped to the U.S. between
1/70 through 1/71 !!. The current owner has done a major
restoration including : Original engine rebuit rings, bearings,
timing components, block refurbishment. Also the 4 spd. manual
transmission, striking rod, clutch, flywheel. The waterpump was
replaced, radiator re-cored, new plugs, N.O.S. plug wires, O.E.M.
braded hoses. Both headlamp / taillight assemblies were all rebuilt
